Ixtapa is a stunning paradise set on the golden Mexican Pacific coast.

Gastronomy

Octopus, squid and shrimp, marinated in lemon, grilled, fried in bread-crumbs or served in sauce, as well as flavorful freshly-caught lobsters in the coastal regions, are other tasty examples of the country's gastronomy.
Fish and shellfish are the stars of Ixtapan gastronomy, which boasts a wide range of dishes made with the fresh catch of the day.
The specialties of this little town are grilled fish, strips of fish fillet marinated in lemon and Zihuatanejo-style clams.
Shopping
Genuine marvels of traditional craftsmanship can be found in Mexico, made from ceramics, copper, leather, fabric and macramé.
Taxco's exquisite silver creations are a fine example of expert Mexican silvermaking. In Ixtapa and the nearby town of Zihuatanejo there are a number of craft markets selling sea shells, genuine Taxco silver, the famous little lacquer-work boxes from Olinalá and other examples of Mexican craftsmanship such as ceramics, copper objects, fabrics and macramé.
These and other products can also be found in the Ixtapa shopping mall, which is open every day of the week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m
