    “Family Vacation”

    Wonderful resort with too many amenities to list. We’ve stayed here so many times, multiple times a year since the kids were very young, our son has practically grown up in these pools. Irene Sanchez at the pool takes the best care of us every time and always remembers what we drink and we usually don’t even need to ask as she anticipates. The service is phenomenal! I can’t recommend this place enough. The staff recognizes us and they are the reason we get upgraded to a beautiful suite each time. Don’t hesitate to book for an amazing time where you needn’t lift a finger.

    “Nice place”

    This resort had a few properties so you can walk around which was nice. Beach did not have the “umbrellas” but lots of tall trees which worked well. There were no issues during the visit, lots of food choice, and well kept/clean at all times.

    “Our 2019 experience at Barcelo this year”

    Second time back. Last year we celebrated our 25th anniversary and loved this resort. 1st time to Mexico and first to this resort. We just had to go back for our 26th wedding anniversary. A little disappointed with the lack of service. The bar we loved so much at the beach resort ..I think it was called the beach resort bar which was indoors..my husband and I like to get to know the waiters and people and I've been practicing my Spanish all year and not one waitress would come up to us and talk or even take our order. We waited 30 min and left. Olga a young waitress worked there the first night and was sooooo nice and she didn't speak much English but with my little bit of Spanish and what she knew we made out well...we really appreciated her but after the first night there she wasn't and no one was friendly. So we went to the caribe resort bar and they were better..at least we could get drinks there. No one really made an impression. However Teresa who was a waitress at the pool by captain Morgan's pool bar which was located behind the sayil building..wow..Teresa really impressed us. She was soo attentive looking to see who she could help..get drinks. So friendly. Just really made an impression. She's such a hard worker and really loves what she does..this trip I noticed that alot of waiters , waitresses it's just a job and they weren't as friendly but the ones that stood out..which I'm sure there are more I just want to recognize the ones that made our trip great. Oscar at that same pool who made the drinks at the bar was soo nice and friendly. I didn't know that the waitresses who brought you your drinks at the pool bar made them. Migal at captain Morgan's pool buffet was nice and would help us with our Spanish. Of course I cannot forget David at our favorite restaurant Mexico Lindo..love this place..he spent alot of time helping us with our Spanish and getting to know us. What a great service we had there. Moises at the Caribe buffet dinner really stood out as well..he made me this amazing mojito called a exotic mojito..wow very good. He will forever be in our most remarkable memories...his service was amazing. So attentive, friendly. Last night was our last night and he made us up a goody bag cause our flight was really early this morning and he wanted to make sure we ate before our flight..now that's going beyond your job...thanks Moises...Mucho Gracias...on the downside we had to constantly ask guest services to make sure they left some snacks in the room. My husband really liked the chips and nuts but we have up asking cause everytime they said they'll make sure that we would have them each day.. it wasn't there. Our maid was good though. We stayed in room 6319 and she always cleaned the room well. Thank you to who ever you are. Lastly our last person who we had contact was Octavia Medrano who came to get our luggage. He stood there with us and waited with us before our bus came to get us. Really nice. He taught us some more Spanish words and let us know some nice things about himself and his family and how much he loves the Mayan area and working there. You could see that. ...when you see poor service it's important to mention it so it can get better..those poor experiences can really make a poor experience but when you see exceptional service like Teresa, Oscar, Moises, David, Octavia, and so on I want to recognise them cause they made it better. I wasn't impressed at that bar at the beach..there were 4 waitresses standing around doing nothing while we sat there on the couches and it wasn't busy and they didn't even come over. The guy behind the bar had to say something one of the nights to them. Not good. I would still recommend this resort but I wish we had free wifi though. The resort is beautiful though. Lots to do and see. Love the snokeling options there. Perhaps on our 27th we'll go back. Oh yes..for our anniversary the hotel sent us champagne and a cute cake and two nights at different restaurants may 15 the Capris and may 16 at the steak house sent us a cake to our table saying happy anniversary.thanks Barcelo employees. We love you for that.

    “All inclusive? Not quite”

    Only 'all inclusive' I've ever been to with pay-to-use Wifi... And it's not cheap either... It's 2019 - that's ridiculous. They offer 'free' wifi for 3 hours a day (10am-1pm) in one very specific area of the hotel property -- As for the resort itself... not bad - not the best I've been to but it was relatively clean and no one in the group got sick. The lunch menus were very repetitive -- exact same items available for all 7 days we were there. The 3 a-la-carte restaurants we went to were decent. Overall, just based on the wifi alone I wouldn't really recommend this resort... Again - it's 2019... I went in a group with 30 other people -- this resort made a boatload of money off of us... Nickel and diming us for some relatively slow and spotty wifi was just dumb.

    “We traveled as a family and need a room with two beds but only received a king room.”

    They told use it not guaranteed you receive a double room even if you request one. It’s based on availability. And we basically told nothing can be done unless we paid upgrade fee of $170+ per night. Was not impressed with there willingness to remedy the situation.

    “Nice place”
