Mr. Cook started with the "Barceló Healthy Gourmet" project. If we offer a healthy diet for adults, why not take the opportunity to teach children about food and its properties in a fun way? This activity will encourage them to try healthy foods and like them.
Teaching children to cook is a good way to encourage them to adopt good dietary habits. The kitchen is not only a place to prepare food, it's also a place to educate and learn. Food is a necessity but it's also a tradition, a custom that we should pass on to our children, enjoying it with them and teaching them to look after themselves and keep a healthy diet.
Holidays, whether in summer or in winter, are a great time for children to take their first steps in learning to cook. Eating well means having a good quality of life. With this activity, we teach children to learn about different foods, to adopt good dietary habits and to learn to have fun in the kitchen.
It means that children get to know how rich and varied our cuisine can be, and they learn to eat properly along the way. It is also an excellent way to keep them entertained.
At a time when we are seeing an increasing rise in childhood obesity, teaching children to cook from a young age and involving them in meal preparations prevents them from becoming obese children.
