    “If you want quiet then this is the place!!”

    First of all the hotel was pretty much spot on. Very modern if a little tired in places but clean with good sized rooms and very helpful and friendly staff. The food generally was good and you would always find something to eat even though I would say it was geared up more for the Spanish holiday makers than other European nations. If there was an issue with the food or anything else it was dealt with in a very professional manner. So for the hotel it’s a thumbs up but for outside of it then it’s a big thumbs down. I don’t mind a bit of quiet and I’m not looking for another Benidorm but god this was deathly quiet with pretty much nothing around us. I like to sit by the pool but I also like to walk around and see the sights and visit the shops etc but you can’t do that if there’s none around!! Apparently this place was purpose built around 2002 for some Mediterranean games and unfortunately nothing has been done to it since so it’s starting to look very shabby and run down. There would have been a nice promenade and walkway at one time along with a small area of bars and cafes but they were hardly ever open and to be honest we wouldn’t have eat or drank there as they looked pretty disgusting (see pics included). Further down the road was a cafe, a couple of restaurants, small supermarket and two shops one of which was closing for good but they closed everyday for siesta. The rest of the area around was residential with a golf course. One good thing was that you could get into Almeria quite easy on the bus and although it took nearly an hour it was well worth the one euro!! This holiday will suit many people but it will also let many down who like me were sold it on the pretence that there was plenty nearby to see and do. But that will teach me to do a bit of research before I next go away and not rely glossy waffle filled brochures!!

    “Excellent hotel”

    Everything was perfect, friendly staff, lovely food, clean rooms. Fabulous pools with plenty of sunbeds, Couldn't fault anything. Straight into the beach. Very relaxing holiday, will definitely be back.

    “End of Season Break”

    On arrival we were allocated a room which turned out to overlook a car park at the side of the hotel upon request we were quickly and efficiently reallocated to a pool view room. The hotel is very nice with 4 pools set close to the beach. The adjoining beach is very gritty and hardly used. We would recommend going all inclusive if staying here, we were half board, but found the hotel to be remote with a small supermarket about 300 metres away and a slightly larger one about 1500 metres away. There are very few eating or drinking establishments in El Toyo and all a long walk away. Hotel maid service was good, breakfast was best meal of the day, evening meal had plenty of choice but presentation of the hot food buffet could of been better and made more appetizing. Our stay was at the end of the season and the hotel was winding down with 2 pools fenced off during our stay and restaurant table numbers reduced more in keeping with the fewer guests staying. The animation team tried hard but with so few guests during the second half of our stay they had very few willing guests to interact with. Whilst only 15 minutes from the airport we heard no aircraft noise. Would we stay here again probably not but this is based on there being so little in El Toyo rather than a fault of the hotel. If you want a quiet hotel based break it's ideal.

    “Barcelo Cabo de Gata”

    Do tohoto hotelu jsme cestovali s manželem v polovině září a strávili zde týdenní dovolenou. Nikdy jsme neměli all inclusive a tak jsme se těšili na to, co nás zde čeká. S ubytováním a s jídlem jsme byli spokojeni, splnilo naše očekávání, hodnotíme na jedničku. Hotelový bazén by zasloužil minimálně rekonstrukci, je trošku ve fázi rozpadu, kdy chybí polovina dlaždiček a musíte dávat pozor, abyste se neporanili. CK uvádí, že na pláž je to 100 metrů, musím nesouhlasit, když na pláž jdete přes 10 min. Dále CK píše "písečná" pláž s kamenitým podložím. Připravte se na pořádné kameny a zapomeňte na "blbnutí" v moři. Při příjezdu jsme hned byli delegátkou upozorňěni na kameny v moři, mořské ježky a doporučené byly boty do vody. K moři jsme letěli, abychom hlavně strávili dovolenou u něj, moře bylo ale špinavé, koupat se dalo pouze 2 dny v týdnu (v El Toyo je hodně větrno), špatně dostupné, když nemáte boty do vody. Nutno říct, že o kvalitě pláže vypovídalo i to, že jsme u něj byli s manželem skoro sami a všichni hoteloví hosti využívali pouze bazén. Pro děti určtitě nedoporučuji!!! Zklamáním pro nás bylo i to, že se píše, že je v okolí několik barů, obchodů a restaurací. Musím říct, že jsme potkali jen jednu restauraci, bary žádné a obchod je pouze jeden a nenazývala bych ho obchodem (spíše trafika na jídlo). V okolí ani v hotelu rozhodně nečekejte ŽÁDNOU večerní zábavu. Večerní animační programy, na které jsme se těšili probíhali stylem, že se zabáva konala od 22:30, hrálo se do 23:59 a i když se lidé bavili, animátoři vypojili kabel ze zásuvky přesně ve 24:00 a šlo se spát. Když se zadařilo, tak vypnuli hudbu i dříve. Lidé jen nevěřícně koukali a čekali, co se bude dít dál, až po chvíli pochopili, že je konec zábavy (i když skandovali, že nechtějí jít spát). Pokud jste milovníkem bazénů, jídla a nevadí Vám, že v hotelu budete s generací 70+, že se moc nevykoupete v moři, že si večer nezatančíte a půjdete spát na pokoj, tak je tento hotel pro Vás to pravé ořechové. Pro nás bylo moře, večerní zábava a okolí velkým zklamáním:(

    “Týden u moře ve skvělém hotelu”

    Strávili jsme skvělý týden ve výborném hotelu. Vše bylo bez chybičky, hezký hotel skvěle vybavený, prostorné a čisté pokoje, u bazénu dostatek lehátek bez nutnosti rezervace, dostatek personálu, který byl velmi ochotný a vstřícný. Výborná kuchyně, bohatá nabídka v rámci all inclusive.
