    “Great Staff amazing views”

    We love visiting the island of Aruba. Barcelo is a great resort to kick back, relax and let the pampering begin. The entire staff was friendly and very helpful. One of your staff members truly stood out to our group her name is Njurely. She was very attentive to our needs and bypassed any expectations we had. Thank you Njurely for all you did for our group and always smiling :)!

    “Vacation ”

    My wife and I love Aruba! We won’t go anywhere else. We love staying at the Barcelo because of the all exclusive amenities and the amazing views. There was a group of us that stayed at the Barcelo. The staff here are amazing but one person stood out to us. Her name is Njurley. She treated us as if we were family. If we needed anything or had any questions she was there to help us. We quickly became friends and were laughing and cracking jokes as if we have been friends forever. She takes pride in her work and wants to make sure everyone who stays at the Barcelo to have the most relaxing and rewarding vacation. She will be the reason we come back and stay here. Cheers To an everlasting friendship. Thank you Njurley for everything!! Xo

    “STUFF”

    This past October I spent a wonderful week in Aruba. I stayed at Barceló Aruba, this is my second time staying at the resort I would highly recommend this resort. The food, the drinks and the stuff was outstanding. Especially Kaye Lopez Barceló’s activities director. I am in the entertainment field myself having stayed at several different resort. Kaye seems make sure that the resort has activities for both young and old. You do not find in a lot of resorts. The nightly shows that Kaye over sees are done both very professionally and with excellent taste. This is just one person’s opinion, I fill that Barceló is very lucky to have on their stuff an activities director like Kaye Lopez. She is very professional, friendly and helpful with questions about the resort she will do what it takes to get you the right answer. Paul

    “Keeps getting better!!!!!”

    This was our seventh visit to this property and must say the best one yet. We had a wonderful time thanks to the friendly staff, they truly made this a memorable vacation. Sandra Steba from the Royal club is remarkable, she always has a smile on her face and a ”can do” attitude. Sandra made all of our dinning reservations both on and off the property. Sandra and the Royal club team do not have the word NO in their vocabulary, every request was met with a smile and “ I can do that for you” She is an unique employee who reflects Barceló’s standard of excellence. Sandra recommended having dinner on the beach. The dinner was a memorable experience. The two waiters Rodell and Renato were the best we have ever had serve use. Both were attentive and engaging. Breakfast and lunch in the palm offer a wide variety of foods. Every morning we were greeted by Zorita, Dale and Juan who make you feel welcome and part of the Barceló family. We will surely miss the great greeting every morning “Hello Sunshine” My wife cannot have regular coffee and after the first Day Romell remembered she could not have regular coffee and would get fresh decafe coffee and place a saucer on the cup so when we returned to our table we knew which coffee was decafe. My wife had commented to Meri how much she enjoyed the roasted chicken and asked what kind of spice was used on the chicken. The next day much to our surprise Meri had gone shopping for her own groceries and was kind enough to bring us a bottle of spice to take home. Housekeeping on the sixth floor was impeccable. Every day when they came to clean the room they always cleaned the patio doors too. The room was spotless and smelled fresh every day. Unfortunately I failed to remember the house keeper’s name. She was always friendly and willing to get us whatever we needed. The Hibachi table was excellent. Elmo the server could not do enough and made us feel very welcome. The chef was very entertaining and cooked a spectacular meal. The most valuable asset to any organization are the people that work there. You truly have exceptional people working for you at Barceló Aruba. We have already booked our 2018 vacation to Barceló Aruba and we’re looking forward to seeing our friends in the Barceló Family once again..

    “Recent changes not the best”

    This was my 3rd trip to Barcelo. My prior visits were when it was the Occidental.. First, the front desk staff were not friendly at all. My past visits I was always greeted with warm welcomes and smiles. I almost felt like I was bothering the team at this arrival. The "upgraded ocean view room". Ocean view was a bit of a stretch. I'd say limited ocean view at best but a really great view of the roof below and parking lot. When I addressed my concerns with the front desk manager (Marcella Bell??), she had to have been the most unapologetic manager I've ever dealt with in a resort setting. She blamed our travel agent for not letting us know of this poor view. I'm not so sure registration desk manager is the best position for her. While I realize the options were limited for us, she certainly could have been nicer. Our travel mates had to request help with their safe 4 times before getting assistance for just a dead battery. We had to request wash cloths and hand towels a couple of days as the maid service took the dirty ones but didn't replace. Wifi in the lobby was horrific. I'd be very upset if I were to have upgraded to the resort-wide access. There were some good things. The restaurant and bar staff were amazing. Everyone was friendly and very accommodating. Recent remodel of the casino and lobby bar were wonderful. I think the food quality has definitely increased with the change to Barcelo as well. The grounds, pool area, lobby, hallways and rooms were always kept very clean. With all these good things, I can't say they outweighed the way we were dismissed by the registration staff and the poor views. It is unlikely I'll return to this resort.
