    “Lovely hotel in perfect location”

    We stayed here in August 2017 with our 2 children (8 yrs & 5 yrs) in a private rented apartment. The hotel was lovely with 3 pools - 2 large pools and one children's pool that was about knee deep to an adult. All bars, restaurants, shops etc were within close walking distance but yet far enough back from the nightlife that we were not bothered by noise in the evening. We didn't eat in the hotel, as we found it very expensive for food and drinks. We found the hotel to be clean and tidy in general, I had read some negative reviews about the pool toilets etc being dirty and was concerned before we arrived lbut we found these to be fine. I didn't see much of a kids club but our kids weren't interested in this any way so we weren't affected. There were a few activities around the big pools during the day that were announced on a tannoy system and we did go to what we thought was going to be a kids disco one night but they were extremely disappointed to arrive for some sing songs such as 'head, shoulders, knees and toes! Not quite what they had in mind!! So family entertainment in the evening would be the only improvement I would recommend. If we return to Sunny Beach we would stay here again.

    “no facilities to make hot drink”

    lovely hotel food nice great location but for a 5 star hotel I was expecting to have coffee or tea facilities to make a drink in the morning was disappointed with that location for beach and night life great

    “Fantastic holiday!”

    We booked to stay at this hotel for our first holiday as a couple and we had an absolutely amazing time! The location of this hotel is fantastic! A 5-minute walk one way to the beach and a 5-minute walk the other way to the strip so it had the best of both worlds. There isn't really much in the way of evening entertainment for adults at the hotel so we usually ventured out for the night - our favourite hangout was Bubbles Beach Bar were you can dance on the sand with a cocktail in your hand! We'd paid extra to have a pool-view room, which we didn't really get. You could just about see the pool but to be honest the room we were in was so great that we didn't really mind. We were shocked to learn that the double bed was two singles. They weren't even strapped together so during the night we found ourselves slipping down the gap in the middle. The bed was very comfortable though. We had aircon which was great and a huge balcony with table and chairs and also a drying rack for our wet clothes and towels. We had a comfy sofa and a coffee table which were lovely additions to help us relax in the room. The bathroom was in serious need of some repair, with cracks in the tiles and holes in the wall. The outside pool was massive and water jets came on every so often which was a great way to cool down. Every hour or so the on-site entertainment team would come out and try to get people involved in games or dance/sing. It was very much aimed at the families with younger guests and children staying at the hotel but we didn't mind that as it was all good fun. The pool bar was always quite busy but you usually got served fairly quickly and with our all-inclusive it meant we could not only have the occasional cocktail but we were able to grab cold bottles of water from the fridge whenever we wanted. We didn't realise until near the end that on the lower level of the hotel there is a lovely spa. We were going to take advantage of a couples massage, but at almost 500lev for the two of us we decided it was too much money. Had the prices been lower we would have definitely booked ourselves in for a few treatments. The food was the absolute highlight of the trip for us. We're always worried when you go somewhere unfamiliar, whether the food will be up-to-scratch, whether you'll even recognise what's on your plate or whether it's been cooked properly. We needn't have worried. The food at the hotel is AMAZING! A huge choice on offer every day, all cooked to perfection. We didn't go hungry once, if anything we probably ate more than we should have. Our only negative restaurant experience was with the A La Carte. As part of our All Inclusive package you get one night included at the A La Carte restaurant (which isn't actually a restaurant). They set up tables by the pool with beautiful linen and comfy chairs and it's actually quite romantic. The only issue was that when we turned up, they didn't have a record of our booking. They set a table quickly for us but we were pretty disappointed as the whole experience was rushed and we weren't even offered a dessert. On the plus-side, our starter and mains were exquisite. The staff at this hotel are both what makes it and also what breaks it. The staff at the Lobby Bar and the Sports Bar are the shining stars of this hotel. Always willing to make an effort to chat to you and happy to try and make new cocktail combinations for you. Most of the other staff seem very disinterested with their guests and some don't speak a word of English at all - so unless you are being very specific with what you're ordering, the minute you try to ask them a question they don't know what to do. Our biggest let down at the hotel was our cleaner. She kept forgetting to bring us new towels when she would take the old ones, meaning we had to keep ringing down to reception. She would regularly leave cleaning supplies/chemicals behind in the room. One day after we had returned from the beach, we had rung down to ask for fresh towels as there weren't any in our room and instead of knocking on the door she walked straight in (I was completely naked!). To say I was embarrassed would be an understatement. If you're looking for some recommendations on excursions offered: Khans Tent is a must! We also did the foam party at Guava Beach Club (great fun and lots of alcohol to be had but orientated in a very sexual-way with lots of games etc geared at single young people) Overall I wouldn't say that this hotel is worth the stars it claims, BUT we would definitely return, in the hope that improvements have been made. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Sunny Beach.

We are sorry to read that there was so misunderstanding for your A-la Carta reservation, please rest assured that we will share these details with the corresponding Manager. In addition to that, please accept our sincere apologies for the incident occurred with the housekeeping staff, we are sorry that the chambermaid in charge didn't follow the Barceló standards procedure. We will control strictly the performance of the personnel so no similar incidents occur in future.     “Average for a 5* ”

    Upon arrival, I was stunned at the place, in a good way, the decor and surroundings were really nice! We had to wait a bit for our room which isn’t a problem as we just had a wonder about. When it was ready, the receptionist called the bell boy to help us with our cases (very kind and polite) and we were shown to our room. Room was very basic -supplied with the every day essentials. Luckily we had a pool view, but that’s the only real view we got. I didn’t realise it was in between hotels before you got to the seafront when I originally booked. The towels were changed everyday, however the bedding was not. It was clean, but not what I expected of a 5*. The pool area was lovely, mattresses for the sunbeds are available and the pool is a decent temperature. The pool entertainment is repetitive, the same thing every 2 hour but atleast they was trying to get people involved. Probably would visit again, but expected more for the money we paid.

    “Nezvládali jsme to”

    Ubytovali jsme se v hotelu typu "bed and breakfast" na dva týdny na konci května 2014. Pokoje byly dobré velikosti a vkusně vyzdobené, avšak nebyly z nejčistších. Světlo svítící ze stropu pro dva. Spínače světel do koupelny a plíseň kolem dveří od sprchy a kachliček. Žádný špunt v koupelnovém umyvadle. Personál měl 3 pokusy, a stejně se mu nepovedlo najít špunt, který by seděl. Snídaně — jídlo bylo ok, ale postrádalo nezbytné cukry, vodu na čaj, džem a máslo. Hotel má více vedoucích, než zaměstnanců. Zaměstnanci u stolů pracovali velmi tvrdě a byli přepracovaní, zatímco vedoucí byli v povzdálí. Nutno podotknout, že zrovna nebyla hlavní sezona. Toustovač byl pouze domácí a trvalo mu věčnost opéct dva plátky. Lidé se vzdávali. Pokud byste si vzali nůž na pečivo a v noci vás někdo zastavil, nemohl by vás zatknout za přenášení zbraně. Tímto nožem byste totiž ani ten chleba nenakrájeli. Personál na recepci byl velmi přátelský a zdvořilý. Zástupce firmy Thomas Cook byl velmi vyhýbavý a řekl nám, abychom směřovali všechny stížnosti na recepci. Zkusili jsme to se špuntem do umyvadla, ale zdálo se, že nám vůbec nerozumí a nechtěli jsme strávit na recepci celou dovolenou. Pokoj by měl být určitě zkontrolován alespoň při výměně hostů. Tento hotel byl mnohem lepší než naše předešlé hotely v Bulharsku, ale nebyl skvělý. Předpokládám, že hotel odpoví standardním dopisem s žádným průběhem odeslání.

     Dear geoffrey p, First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to leave your comments and recommendations, which really help us to improve the service to our guests. We are deeply concerned about your unsatisfactory experience with us. Since the hotel was opened just two weeks before your arrival there were still some weak points to be improved. Many staff is renewed every season therefore company standards regarding cleanliness takes a little to be implemented, please accept our apologies. On the other hand and unfortunately the breakfast toaster broke (reason why we had to install the domestic one your refer to) and took ages to receive the spare parts to repair it, now it works as it was meant to be. It could be very helpful for us if you could let us know about the unit number you stayed in, in order to check the failures (mold, plug and light fitting hanging) so we can avoid any discomfort with future guests in this unit. If you so decide to give us further explanations, comments or recommendations, by email, we would be glad to hear about it (royalbeach@barcelo.com), also in case you decide to visit us again, so we can prepare a personalized stay, also to apply the better rates & offers available. Hotel má více vedoucích, než zaměstnanců. Zaměstnanci u stolů pracovali velmi tvrdě a byli přepracovaní, zatímco vedoucí byli v povzdálí. Nutno podotknout, že zrovna nebyla hlavní sezona. Toustovač byl pouze domácí a trvalo mu věčnost opéct dva plátky. Lidé se vzdávali. Pokud byste si vzali nůž na pečivo a v noci vás někdo zastavil, nemohl by vás zatknout za přenášení zbraně. Tímto nožem byste totiž ani ten chleba nenakrájeli. Personál na recepci byl velmi přátelský a zdvořilý. Zástupce firmy Thomas Cook byl velmi vyhýbavý a řekl nám, abychom směřovali všechny stížnosti na recepci. Zkusili jsme to se špuntem do umyvadla, ale zdálo se, že nám vůbec nerozumí a nechtěli jsme strávit na recepci celou dovolenou. Pokoj by měl být určitě zkontrolován alespoň při výměně hostů. Tento hotel byl mnohem lepší než naše předešlé hotely v Bulharsku, ale nebyl skvělý. Předpokládám, že hotel odpoví standardním dopisem s žádným průběhem odeslání.

    Dear geoffrey p, First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to leave your comments and recommendations, which really help us to improve the service to our guests. We are deeply concerned about your unsatisfactory experience with us. Since the hotel was opened just two weeks before your arrival there were still some weak points to be improved. Many staff is renewed every season therefore company standards regarding cleanliness takes a little to be implemented, please accept our apologies. On the other hand and unfortunately the breakfast toaster broke (reason why we had to install the domestic one your refer to) and took ages to receive the spare parts to repair it, now it works as it was meant to be. It could be very helpful for us if you could let us know about the unit number you stayed in, in order to check the failures (mold, plug and light fitting hanging) so we can avoid any discomfort with future guests in this unit.
