    “Very satisfying and resting experience”

    Once again the visit to this hotel was a perfect experience: friendly personel, clean quiet and comfortable room, very good and varied breakfast. I have visited a few hotels in Bilbao and this is definitely the best one both in service level and location.

    “Great location”

    This hotel is located perfectly for exploring central Bilbao, old town, Guggenheim, teleferico. Great rooms and friendly helpful service for taxis. The bar prices are extremely reasonable for this level of hotel but we felt there was better value in the old town for breakfast.

    “A great location near everything in Bilbao”

    The hotel is in a great location and has excellent features and rooms. The staff, food and housekeeping were wonderful. The fitness room was not great, but that was not a major problem. I would stay there again.

    “Top Rated”

    I can't think of anything adverse to say about the Hotel, the location was perfect,set along side the river and only a ten minute walk to the old Town. Walk across the river bridge and within ten minutes you can get to the main shopping areas. We found the staff including those on reception to be cordial, friendly and most helpful. They gave us local maps and then highlighted the bus station, local sight seeing spots and potential eating houses and bars, they even rated them for us. It certainly saved us a lot of time trying to navigate Bilbao ourselves. The Hotel had a nice feel to it, spotlessly clean, the rooms were palatial, very modern with all the necessary appliances, including tea and coffee making facilities. We were moving on to San Sebastian and then returning to the Hotel for our last night, a bit concerned about taking all our luggage with us. The receptionist straight away suggested that we could leave our surplus bags with them until our return...a nice touch. I would stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel to other travelers.

    “Beauty is only skin deep”

    This hotel is absolutely great to walk into - it is beautifully designed and sparkling clean. The beds are comfortable and bathroom substantially large and the room is bright which is great when getting ready (hotel rooms can sometimes be dimly lit with poorly placed lights/lighting). We had a smooth, quick and friendly check in although unfortunately did not see these members of reception staff again. The gentleman who checked us out was also friendly but anyone we encountered in between were unfriendly and unhelpful. It felt as though we were inconveniencing them when we asked for information such as how to navigate our way to the bus station to visit San Sebastian he quite literally dismissed us by waving his arm and telling us to go left and cross the bridge - it was in fact right. We had never before visited Bilbao and having arrived in the evening and being the following morning we were oblivious to our surroundings. This is not what I expect. Not wishing to inconvenience this older reception man any more and not being accustomed to this level of dismissal/disrespect we left and relied on locals to get us to where we needed to be. Unfortunately this encounter with reception staff was not a one off. That evening after a very long day we returned to the hotel and got showered and changed ready for an evening meal. We went to reception to ask for restaurant recommendations and we were told everywhere was closed and we should just walk around and see what was open. They were too busy speaking among themselves to help us. Again, feeling like an inconvenience we left and did as they told us to do - it wasn't late (21:20) and it was the weekend and without a destination or area to go to we didn't get into a taxi but instead walked around. We went to a few places who said if our hotel had called them they would have certainly kept their kitchens open as we had just missed them (the time it took us to aimlessly walk around a strange city to us) - this highlights just how unhelpful the staff were, we eventually found a place but when speaking to locals were left perplexed by the reasons the hotel didn't suggest room service or even offer to order us a take away. This is a modern city with all the amenities you could want, unfortunately in a city surrounded by friendly locals we were stuck in a hotel with pretentious, unapproachable and arrogant (verging on rude) reception staff. We will return to Bilbao, it is a great place, I recommend it to all, however, I would not return to this hotel and it has actually put me off the brand altogether - friends have since visited Bilbao and stayed at alternative hotels and had great experiences.
