    Lots of great things about the hotel, great location, nice rooms, but not like All inclusive at Barcelo hotels in Dominican.No towels for the pool you have to take your own. Main let down was pool food, very poor and always cold.

    “Excellent hotel and great location”

    Stayed here for 2 weeks in July with our 17 year old daughter had a great holiday, excellent hotel close to all the shops restaurants and bars, I would revisit and would highly recommend to anyone considering this hotel.

    “Worst all inclusive I've ever done”

    Just returned from Barcelo Castillo Beach Resort where we holidayed as a family of three. My husband and I have done many AI holidays before and thought we'd take our son with us this time for a change. I was so disappointed for him as we have been to so many better resorts. I'll start with the positives, as that's quicker.... 1) Resort is in a nice location, right on the huge beach and the town centre a 10/15 minute walk away. Here there are many bars and restaurants open during the day and evening. 2) As normal AI guests we had access to two fairly nice pools, although very salty water. 3) Superior bungalow was very spacious although lighting could be improved. Now the negatives..... 1) We had a superior bungalow which had a wet room.... I understand these are needed but the design of this one meant if you needed the loo after using the shower your feet got soaked..... 2) You are charged for the in room safe: €7 deposit then €3 per day. 3) You are charged for each pool towel: €10 deposit then €2 each time you want it changing for a fresh towel. I have never heard of this before and I've stayed in many AI hotels, both 4* and 5*. 4) Although the hotel mentions several bars and restaurants AI guests can only use the 2 pool bars from 10.30 to 5.30 and the Theatre from 5.30 to 11.00 for drinks. Any other locations will only give you 20% discount. 5) As for meals AI is only included in the main buffet restaurant. The food here is always cold and very repetitive. Wine, beer and soft drinks were obtained from the self service taps. As this is the main eating area the place was just chaotic all the time. I also agree with another reviewer when they said a buffet like that would be closed down in England. Hot food should always be kept at a certain temperature to prevent food poisoning. 6) Snacks were available outside of the buffet meal times however this consisted of just a very small buffet by both pools that had salads, hamburgers, hotdogs bread rolls etc, again all just left out all day. The only places where hot freshly prepared food was available were the a la carte restaurants and they only give 20% off for AI guests. To conclude, I was very disappointed with this Resort as it did not live up to my expectations having read many reviews before booking. I know we all look for different things when booking holidays and this Resort might be acceptable to some but I think my standards are much higher than what is on offer here. With this in mind I would definitely not consider going back as an AI guest.

    “Holiday”

    Lovely place. Holiday didn't get off to the best of starts. We booked gold service all inclusive with VIP check in at its own desk which is meant to speed things up. In actuality, we stood and waited over half an hour until the receptionist checked in all the standard passengers and then ignored us. We walked over to her desk at which point she checked our tickets and moved us back where we came from and checked us in at the VIP desk with a cheap glass of fizz. Pretty poor if you ask me. Then we where checked into our room. We booked a suite and where given just a big room. This was changed the next day following a our complaints, but we wasted half a day messing around with no compensation or apologies. Once this was all sorted, the resort was lovely and peaceful and the holiday was very nice, but my overriding memory unfortunately is of the poor service at the start. Worth mentioning the girl who manages the VIP guests during the day was excellent, but at this point we already felt undervalued as guests who paid for a level of service we just did not receive. Disappointing!!

    Přesvědčte se nejdříve na vlastní oči. Právě jsme se vrátili z týdenního all inclusive pobytu, my dva (58 let staří prarodiče), náš čtyřletý vnuk a jeho 37letí rodiče. Tento hotelový komplex se postaral o všechno, jídlo, zábavu, dobrou polohu a ubytování. Skvělý odpočinkový pobyt, všem doporučujeme.
