    “Occidental Costa teguise”

    Ok but had to but water at dinner when I had a room full of it. It should be made clear if you can take your own to dinner or if it was not allowed. We sneaked ours in. Also to get to the beach we went through the other Occidental hotel and don't know if this was allowed or hits. It should be made clear.

    “Not worth the money”

    We stayed here at the end of May 2017 for a family holiday to celebrate my mums birthday. On arrival we were allocated our rooms and were not offered any assistance in finding the room which we soon discovered was not an easy task!! The set up of the rooms and floors is really bizarre and after sending family back to reception we found our rooms a while later. We were travelling with small children and by this time they were exhausted. The room was a nice size, we upgraded to the family suite. The rooms seemed to be clean on arrival. During our stay there was work being done underneath our balcony by the pool which was not pleasant and sometimes noisy. We had to request our room be cleaned some days as even leaving the sign on the door did not always guarantee it was cleaned. The hotel advised it had extras in the family room e.g bottle warmer - we never got these and even after asking reception they didn’t appear. We also were told if we wanted water to make bottles we had to pay for it or go to the water fountain, which just wasn’t practical to make baby formula. We also had to pay extra for the kettle to make bottles. The food at the buffet was not good whilst we were there, dirty cutlery observed, dirty glases on the table. Although this wasn’t every night we often had to search for clean items. We went to the a la carte restaurant where the starters were buffet style, containing some fish dishes, these were not covered just left on the side. We were reassured all was fine to eat, the following day several members of the group including myself became violently sick. As we were trying to speak to reception about the issues and the illness we met another family who had also become sick. We were told the hotel couldn’t assit and to speak to the holiday rep. It took to the end of the holiday to locate the rep who basically said there wasn’t anything she could do and left it at that!! We also raised other issues about the baby items missing from the fanily room and were told they would be sent up and never were. A positive for the hotel was the entertainment staff- they worked long hours to keep the guests happy. They were always running different activities and each night there was a show for the children and adults. Unfortunately this was not the holiday we had hoped.. it ruined my partner proposing to me and my mums birthday due to the amount of illness we experienced. For the money we paid i would go elsewhere!!

    “Amazing Hotel for the price - would recommend”

    This hotel was beyond my expectations. I went with my mum and we booked a cheap last minute all-inclusive deal, not expecting too much out of the hotel. I read reviews before going and honestly cannot understand the negatives. There was a huge variety of foods all freshly prepared and topped up throughout each meal. Catering staff were very friendly and got to know us throughout our stay. There are themed nights - my favourite was Spanish night where we were greeted with tequila shots! The drinks were amazing - it was all self-service, so a number of bottles were laid out along the bar and you could take your pick - it meant that drinks weren’t watered down which was great! The adult pool was amazing. We had to pay for cocktails there, but there’s an all-inclusive discount which means that each cocktail is only a few euros, and they’re very alcoholic! Only negative is that the bars would close early or sometimes not open if it was too quiet - this might be different during peak season though. Overall, a great stay, and I would happily return here.

    “Perfect for families”

    A wonderful week spent at the hotel. We travelled as a big family group - 5 adults and 3 children ages 10,10 and 3. We loved every minute ... our favourite had to be the animation team and the effort they put in from their first dance around 10am till last orders at the bar at night! Our youngest child who is very shy and timid came away loving all of them!! Activities throughout the day keep both children and adults busy ... with awards at night which were appreciated by the children (and secretly the adults!). The nightly shows were great with the Michael Jackson number being our fave! The hotel was friendly, quiet and very clean. We had our room cleaned whenever requested with fresh bedding/ towels. We were in one of the older family rooms and I couldn't complain... simple thing but the children loved CBeebies on the TV, with English 1,2,3 channels too! We used the safe service (at a cost) and this was straight forward. We had requested a ground floor room via email due too a disability and this was all sorted when we arrived with no problems so appreciated this. We didn't need any support on our trip but the hotel had offered us any help on our arrival. FOOD! All inclusive - Lots of options and all of us satisfied each meal with theme nights most nights. Never struggled to all sit together. Drink is all help yourself which made things so quick and easy! We used the a la carte restaurant at the entrance to the hotel and it was AMAZING!! Huge portions and very tasty!! The waitress that served us was incredibly attentive - family friendly and could not do enough for us to make sure everything was perfect. It was very quiet which is a shame for how good it was and the cost as a hotel guest was so reasonable. Would definitely recommend! A great stay had by all of us!!

    “Ten hotel se původně jmenoval OASIS a jak si já představuji oasu, plně odpovídal svému účelu”

    V současné době název osciluje mezi názvy Barcelo a Occidental Lanzarote Mar. Zřejmě to byl kdysi hotel jeden, později rozdělený na dvě části - Mar a Play, protože mezi oběma částmi probíhá hlavní, ne však příliš frekventovaná silnice. Jako oasa v poušti byl navržen (lávová pole ze všech stran) a po architektonické stránce je skutečně kvalitní. Měli jsme pokoj superior family a ten byl rozděleni na samostatnou prostornou ložnici a obývací pokoj, předsíňku a prostornou koupelnu + WC. Čili pokoj řešen výborně pro 2 až 4 lidi (Rozkládací gauč v obýváku). Otázky pod recenzí nelze prostým ano a ne správně odpovědět. Tentokrát jsem poprvé jel s manželkou na chodítku a to hned vidíte všechno jinak. Tak jsme například bydleli ve 3. patře 7. křídla. Odtud však pro nechodící vede pouze jediný (neevakuační) výtah, který byl za dobu našeho pobytu (14 dnů) 2x rozbitý, některá tlačítka nebyla osvětlená déle než týden). Protože je mojí profesí požární bezpečnost staveb, neumím si představit, jak by se invalidé a rodiny s dětmi dostávali v případě evakuace ven. Ale to jenom na okraj. Jinak personál příjemný a opravdu se snažil ve všech případech pomoci, strava - mně nechutnala, manželka má ráda ryby ve všech podobách, tak si to chválila. Postrádal jsem vařená jídla s přílohou, studená kuchyně ovšem perfektní pro oba. To ostatní už tak chválit nemohu. I když jsme měli All Inclusive - v tomto hotelu to funguje jako jakási samoobsluha. Host si nalévá z vystavených lahví s alkoholem sám, automaty na kávu, pivo, limonády - to vše u jediného baru ve 2.patře u bazénu, který je skutečně otevřen od 10 do 18 hodin. Potom je otevřen druhý bar v přízemí, ale řešený stejnou samoobsluhou. Zarazilo mně, že v barech si sice můžete natočit vodu z láhve, ale pokud si chcete odnést balenou vodu do pokoje, musíte si ji koupit. 1 Euro/ lahev asi 60 dcl. - to jsem jinde neviděl. Bazény jsou ve druhém patře (na střeše recepce) 2, jeden z nich částečně vytápěný, další pro děti. Údajně je tam ještě jeden, ale tam jsem se nedostal. Hotely tvoří uzavřený celek, ale nemá přímý přístup k moři. Pokud někdo chce jít na pláž, čeká ho asi kilometrový pochod po pobřežní promenádě do městečka Costa Teguise, případně autobusem za 1,4 Euro, kde jsou restaurace a obchody všeho druhu a také lékárna. Samozřejmě si v hotelu můžete pronajmout auto. Možná, že se dá k moři dostat i přes hotel Playa přes ulici, ale to jsem nezkoušel s ohledem na nepohyblivou manželku. No - tento hotel na mně velký dojem neudělal a příště bych tam nejel, i když pokoje a jejich zařízení se mi líbilo. Také jsem ocenil dobře fungující Wi-fi připojení i na pokoji, to nebývá příliš obvyklé. Ale hotel je dost opuštěný a na nákupy je to na obě strany daleko, kromě toho je ve vzdálenosti asi 2 km průmyslový objekt a 3 větráky, neruší, ale prostě v rekreační oblasti by to být nemělo.
