    “On the whole, good”

    Just returned yesterday from this hotel. I always try and review taking into consideration price, so, if you are expecting luxury accommodation at what you pay to stay here, you will no doubt be disappointed. First impressions of the hotel are good. An easy check in and super helpful guided route to our room with cases. The reception is very large and opens into an indoor bar area, all furnished nicely. We missed last food of the day but we found a delivered platter in the room to compensate, which although basic, was well received. The room itself was a family room with obscured sea view. Obscured by trees, but actually quite a nice balcony for early morning sun, though, those familiar with the island will know that it is prone to wind. The room was clean but clearly dated, the main beds were fairly poor to be fair and not very stable. The kids have a sofa bed and pull out which were considered adequate. The bathroom was good and included a range of toiletries including toothbrushes. The flooring throughout was tiled and, fairly cracked/dated. The bars were great. We were all inclusive and soon found that these were self service with beer, wine and spirits plus mixers all available. Unlike many similar hotels, there were absolutely no queues for drinks, due to the self service nature. An absolute masterstroke by the hotel. The bars were manned to a degree but, due to no stress people working them, the experience at the bar was always smily. The main pool area was very busy so on day two we went to a quieter terrace which was actually the roof of the reception. This area worked better for us but was a little exposed to the island winds though these proved ‘cooling.’ We did notice that bins were not frequently emptied resulting in overflow. The food and general running of the restaurant was a highlight. The staff were like little happy robots ensuring its smooth running. Drinks were served to the table and a large range of cuisine on offer including ‘show’ cooking. This area was, however very busy at times but, again, on budget, the figures have to add up for the hotel. All food was constantly replenished to ensure high quality. We also have a trip to the mediteranian restaurant included at no extra cost. Absolutely fabulous food and service here and, very relaxed. The tenderloins were simply the best we’ve had. Poolside food was the usual burgers, dogs, fries etc. Not for us, but these looked very good and the area was constantly cleaned and attended to. Daytime activities seemed to be lapped up by those who wanted to take part and the team were very enthusiastic and hard working. The evening entertainment was on the whole child based and again, taken on by the same team. Unfortunately we felt that despite their best efforts, this was lacking, though, considered that this was down to budget. Overall, a really good overall experience. Well done.

    “Dont go there”

    Max a 2 star hotel. Everything is old, dark boring, looks like a hotel from Russia in 1960... except the reception. It's a dressed-up body. The pictures from booking.com looks fantastic, but You will be seriously disappointed.

    Kvalitni ubytovani za rozumnou cenu, vhodne pro rodiny s detmi, plaz neni v blizkosti hotelu, ale jezdi tam autobus od hotelu ( bohuzel jen kazdou pul hodinu az hodinu). Pokud chcete zustat v hotelu u bazenu, je to dostacujici. Vyborny vyber jidla behem dne.

    “Ten hotel se původně jmenoval OASIS a jak si já představuji oasu, plně odpovídal svému účelu”

    V současné době název osciluje mezi názvy Barcelo a Occidental Lanzarote Mar. Zřejmě to byl kdysi hotel jeden, později rozdělený na dvě části - Mar a Play, protože mezi oběma částmi probíhá hlavní, ne však příliš frekventovaná silnice. Jako oasa v poušti byl navržen (lávová pole ze všech stran) a po architektonické stránce je skutečně kvalitní. Měli jsme pokoj superior family a ten byl rozděleni na samostatnou prostornou ložnici a obývací pokoj, předsíňku a prostornou koupelnu + WC. Čili pokoj řešen výborně pro 2 až 4 lidi (Rozkládací gauč v obýváku). Otázky pod recenzí nelze prostým ano a ne správně odpovědět. Tentokrát jsem poprvé jel s manželkou na chodítku a to hned vidíte všechno jinak. Tak jsme například bydleli ve 3. patře 7. křídla. Odtud však pro nechodící vede pouze jediný (neevakuační) výtah, který byl za dobu našeho pobytu (14 dnů) 2x rozbitý, některá tlačítka nebyla osvětlená déle než týden). Protože je mojí profesí požární bezpečnost staveb, neumím si představit, jak by se invalidé a rodiny s dětmi dostávali v případě evakuace ven. Ale to jenom na okraj. Jinak personál příjemný a opravdu se snažil ve všech případech pomoci, strava - mně nechutnala, manželka má ráda ryby ve všech podobách, tak si to chválila. Postrádal jsem vařená jídla s přílohou, studená kuchyně ovšem perfektní pro oba. To ostatní už tak chválit nemohu. I když jsme měli All Inclusive - v tomto hotelu to funguje jako jakási samoobsluha. Host si nalévá z vystavených lahví s alkoholem sám, automaty na kávu, pivo, limonády - to vše u jediného baru ve 2.patře u bazénu, který je skutečně otevřen od 10 do 18 hodin. Potom je otevřen druhý bar v přízemí, ale řešený stejnou samoobsluhou. Zarazilo mně, že v barech si sice můžete natočit vodu z láhve, ale pokud si chcete odnést balenou vodu do pokoje, musíte si ji koupit. 1 Euro/ lahev asi 60 dcl. - to jsem jinde neviděl. Bazény jsou ve druhém patře (na střeše recepce) 2, jeden z nich částečně vytápěný, další pro děti. Údajně je tam ještě jeden, ale tam jsem se nedostal. Hotely tvoří uzavřený celek, ale nemá přímý přístup k moři. Pokud někdo chce jít na pláž, čeká ho asi kilometrový pochod po pobřežní promenádě do městečka Costa Teguise, případně autobusem za 1,4 Euro, kde jsou restaurace a obchody všeho druhu a také lékárna. Samozřejmě si v hotelu můžete pronajmout auto. Možná, že se dá k moři dostat i přes hotel Playa přes ulici, ale to jsem nezkoušel s ohledem na nepohyblivou manželku. No - tento hotel na mně velký dojem neudělal a příště bych tam nejel, i když pokoje a jejich zařízení se mi líbilo. Také jsem ocenil dobře fungující Wi-fi připojení i na pokoji, to nebývá příliš obvyklé. Ale hotel je dost opuštěný a na nákupy je to na obě strany daleko, kromě toho je ve vzdálenosti asi 2 km průmyslový objekt a 3 větráky, neruší, ale prostě v rekreační oblasti by to být nemělo.
