Let yourself be swept away by the sounds of the piano, which is one of the greatest musicals of our century, and is in a faraway and apparently inaccessible world: inspiration.
The Portuguese pianist Maria João Pires has captivated your audiences thanks to the sensitivity, authenticity and inspiration of its performances. With its incomparable style, the full of sandodrome and depth, it always has the setting to give voice to the essence of music: this combination of sounds that enliven life through your hands, illuminating silence as a clear ray and direct canvas on a transparent canvas. The program that will be offered, surrounded by the idyllic gardens of the Formentor a Royal Hideaway Hotel, will include some of the most emblematic parts of the Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin three composers that have undoubtedly marked the history of this great artist of our century.
“I am really wishing to arrive at this magical place, I think we will be all very happy there”. Enthusiasm was honored by the violinist Leticia Moreno before the concert that opened, on 26 May, 2018-2018 season of the Formentor Sunset Classics Festival. Accompanied by the "Tango Nueva project" Quintet, made up of Claudio Constantini to the bandoneón, José Gallardo to the piano, Uxia Martínez with the backdrop and Anneleen Tejaerts al arpa-, Leticia Moreno offers a musical tour around tango in a truly impressive setting.
His musical bet was explained by Felipe Aguirre, Artistic Director of the Festival: “The project with which we have opened this festival aims to update what was the tango revolution that led to the works of Argentine Piazzolla, who had a new air in this style.” A musical style that is rooted in the origins of the Formentor, a Royal Hideaway Hotel, which started in 1929 frued from the effort, vision and dreams of Argentine Adan Diehl, and that he enamored Moreno from when he met Piazzolla. “Its music has a complexity and an incredible depth, but it shines out so that it is as straightforward, as beautiful and as easy as they are, but rather to the contrary,” explained violinist.
That's why the program was designed precisely to deepen the composers, the works, that marked not only the music of Piazzolla but also its life and character, and which led him to create this unique and revolutionary message.
With this presentation letter, violinist Madrileña left accompany great musicians to fill the Formentor Bay of legendary figures such as Bach, Vivaldi, Bartok, Ginastera and the same Piazzolla, all to the service of the tango.

This time, it was the Teatro Real in Madrid that welcomed Gustavo Dudamel. “I excite myself in such a classic theater, which keeps mysteries that are not harboring the modern spaces,” the Venezuelan stated in the previous press wheel where he acknowledged his enthusiasm where he would be delighted by the Teatro Real.
It was first time in this stage but not with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. In the extensive experience, despite his youth, she found this legendary orchestra in various times. That's why this concert had an enriching character that competes a young director, teeming with nature and talent, which embraces modernity in classical music with a historic orchestra, recognized with one of the best in the world, which is renowned for celebrating its bicentennial and capable of intimating any with its impressive sound explosions.
This was precisely demonstrated from the start of the concert, with the introverted Vienneura Oscurnist of the Imagio, the inconclusa Symphony No. 10 of Mahler, to continue, after resting, with the vitalist and expanding Symphony of Berlioz. An impressive sensory journey between different shores that shines brilliantly by the master Dudamel.
The Bernstein Fun Dance and the Polish Winterlustby Josef Strauss closed a unique concert in which the director was even allowed to joke with the attendees as the fun notes of the Divertimento took place, and faithful to that temperament close to the last of the word that characterizes the Venezuelan culture.
A show that joined the authentic “genius musical” according to National Geographic magazine, with one of the best orchestras in the world in an innovative setting but as extraordinary as the original. What better way to gold.

His highly expressive expression increased his singing, which he deepens in the cheerful sentiments of the program, traveling from Bizet to Puccini by Mascagni. “Single, perduta, abthroonata” was the 45-minute intensity-filled final, opera in the natural setting of Formentor, for which the artist only had words of enthusiasm: “I abound much for doing the concerts in natural settings, this is a wonderful place and this festival is simply exquisite.”
