    “Highly recommended”

Positive: Just loved this hotel. Extra large shower with lots of heads. Hotel and room are contemporary, crisp and clean. Great location, right above the train and metro lines. Easy walk to Pl. Espanya and National Museum. Be sure to go the museum at night to see the fountain display using colored lights and classical music. Our room had views of both the busy action below and hills in the distance Negative: Wi-fi pathetic (one bar) most of the time, never more than 3 bars. Our safe wouldn’t lock, but eventually we got it fixed. Nevertheless, highly recommend the hotel, but they need to boost the wi-fi.

    “First class stay”

Barcelo Sants Hotel, Barcelona. Amazing hotel, immaculate and perfectly located for return airport journey. The station is under hotel. You cannot hear the trains from the hotel. The trains take you everywhere and are so easy to use. The T10 ticket is worth every penny but it does run out. That’s why we bought two just to in case. We are in our 60’s and after day 1 it was straight forward. Train to Las Ramblas 5-6 minutes. Train to port 10 minutes max. Getting to hotel. Arrive at the airport. Security to get out is the worst ever. Better to join the queue rather than the fingerprint identification they ask for. Huge problems if you do not speak Spanish. Once collected luggage exit main building. Turn left and just keep walking towards terminal 1. Taxis located to your right if required. Keep walking. Look up and you will see an enclosed bridge over the road. Go up a level and use bridge as it will take you to the railway station. To get to Barcelona take the Renfre train. It is four stops to Barcelo Sants overland not subway. The hotel is directly above the station. Use escalator to upper level of rain station and then look for McDonald’s to your left. Exit building and directly in front is taxi and bus station. To the right whilst on this pavement is the entry to Barcelo Sants hotel. Easy to miss but sign is there. Just remember taxi service is in front of you. Go up one level to reception. Total time from airport to hotel is about 40 minutes allowing to get lost. Train every 30 minutes. Buy a T10 ticket. I bought two and we went everywhere on main train and subway. Total cost €20. Getting back to airport from hotel. From reception take lift one level down. Exit lift, walk along corridor to pavement. Enter railway station and go to platform 9. Renfre Train leaves every 30 minutes, 10 past and twenty to the hour. Four stops to airport, it is the last stop. Use T10 ticket. Once off train follow everyone to airport. Walk through enclosed bridge to terminals. Once down from bridge turn left and keep walking and keep on walking. Pass Norwegian Air, Ryanair and Jet2. Keep walking and you will get to Easyjet at C T2. Terminal only for Easyjet so easy to find. Total time from hotel- 30 minutes maximum by train. From train to easyjet comfortable 10 minutes walk. Will definately use again purley because its so easy to get about from there. Well done Barcelo. Need more info - mail me.

    “Perfect for Our Needs”

We stayed here for three nights (not consecutive) during a trip through Northern Spain and Andorra in March/April, and this hotel was the perfect location for us because of its access to the train, bus and metro stations. We wanted lodging where we could easily catch an early bus to Andorra, an early train to San Sebastian and a train to the airport. Barcelo Sants stands above the train/metro station and across the street from the bus terminal. We had been to Barcelona many times so it was unnecessary for us to be in city center for sightseeing, though it took only 20 minutes to reach this destination on the metro and even less by train. This hotel has an outer space theme, which I thought to be a bit kitschy. For example, the lobby features a representation of a man in a spacesuit, a robot that looks like R2-D2, a boarding station by the elevator, and guest floors with a window that gives the impression of looking into space. But this seemed to really appeal to the children staying here, especially the boarding station, which proved to be a big draw. I had fun, pretending to blast off in the elevator for them. The first two one-night stays had us on the 7th floor in cookie-cutter rooms. They proved to be clean and well maintained with comfortable beds and lovely city views. Compact, these quiet rooms had the sink and counter next to the bed with a separate cubicle for a shower and another for the toilet. A nice work table stood by the window. Ample storage space existed, including a big safe. WiFi was always fast and reliable. We did not fare as well on the third stay when we were on the second floor with a view of the roof. The desk chair was too low to work comfortably and the WiFi was unreliable. Here, the toilet and shower shared the same room and the shower kept flooding the space. Staff were welcoming and helpful, from those at Reception to those we met in the halls. We found it to be a real pleasure to interact with them. We opted to have breakfast in the train station. It offers many places to eat, where customers order at a counter and take their food to a table. We thought the prices were moderate and the food satisfactory. Many restaurants stand near the station that offer dinner. For those arriving here by train, I suggest exiting the station by McDonald's and turning right. There will be a sign, identifying the hotel. Enter here and proceed up a ramp to the small elevator that serves Barcelo Sants.

    “Nice city hotel!”

Everything was fine! Check in was done very fast and without and problems! Buffet of breakfast was very good and several different tastes for all people was offered! The location of the hotel is very nice, since you just have to use the elevator and about 300 m to achieve the metro Station.
