“Good Hotel, in a good location”

A very pleasant hotel with lovely rooms and good amienties. Staff are very hard working, and we went half board and the breakfasts are excellent. Evening meals provide themed nights but always a good choice available so should suit everyone. The food is good/very good but like most buffets picking an item that has been out for a while isnt going to be as good as one prepared for you or just come out of the kitchen. The pool bas is very good, but would like to see a wider range of sandwiches available. Sun loungers were uncomfortable and could do with pads and a choice of lougers and chairs. Early evening the lobby bar could do with two tenders as one struggled to cope with pre-dinner drinks.

    “Vegan friendly ”

Firstly, my wife has been a vegan for nearly 25 years; she knows her stuff and her rights, I am the opposite and will eat anything.... The hotel did her proud with a good variety, the head chef Fabio always made sure she got a good meal ever evening, he was excellent and so, so accommodating, great job done by Fabio and the restaurant team. My top five :- 1. Reception and restaurant staff were excellent, this is our fourth holiday abroad this year, we no good service from both working in the service industry, everyone touched all the service touch points 2. For me, the food for breakfast and dinner was excellent, great availability and range, I can’t understand why any one would complain, looking at the plates pilled up as always in a buffet operation, it clearly wasn’t a issue 3. Ample sun beds, never a issue and we went down different times of the day 4. The hotel was clean and our room was cleaned daily 5. Great location and worth upgrading your room In summary, great location, good staff, great food and a clean hotel, which is all we really need, never went to any of the entertainment, so can’t comment on this Our only negative was they had a private function in a hall under our room one night, think it would have been worst for other guest closer to the hall, It felt like we had a DJ in our room at the bottom of our bed, the noise went onto 12.30 am, we did complain Apart from the DJ in our room event, which apparently was a one off, we would book this hotel again and give it 100% Stars of the week has got to be the restaurant staff who were always polite, helpful and accommodating......

    “Mostly OK”

Stayed here a few times before but gave it a miss last year because it was dated and the food not all that great. The refurbishment is lovely, much better. The food however is a little more improved but still could be better especially the starters which we found good on Tuesdays when there was prawns, I mean pear halves and a lettuce leaf with something odd dabbed on is not to our taste. The mains overall weren't too bad although we did eat out on a few occasions as nothing to our taste. They do seem to cater very well for other nationalities needs but not British. Lets get onto breakfast, what a shambles, had to ask a couple of times for a chef to help with the freshly cooked stuff as there was only one chef trying to cook 6 different things like omelettes, this clearly does not work as everyone is waiting for fried eggs and bacon (which by the way is re heated). We had one slight problem on checkout as our bill had somebody else's drinks on it which we noted, they had put our room number on it but it was not our signatures, this was soon rectified well and taken off, so not a big issue and not the hotels fault but the fault of some cheeky person getting their room number wrong or trying to get free drinks!, please check your bar bills. Staff all very nice and polite, especially Bea in the restaurant. Overall opinion is this hotel is still worth a visit and we will probably return.

    “Lovely refurbishment ”

This was our 3rd Visit, 1st since refurb. Walk-in shower, pool tiles sorted & non-slip area surrounding, we preferred the removal of some of the larger shrubs as it made the area more open & same staff who always make you feel welcome - always time to smile, that was until the 6th day of our 10 night break when the hotel had a large intake of all-inclusive & we noticed a change. Snack bar, hard to get a table, 30/40 minute wait for orders & food - staff looking stressed & unable to provide the service we had received on our previous 5 days, restaurant staff always too busy, lounge bar was a lot more busy - why were staffing levels still the same?? The hotel knew they were introducing all-inclusive but had not planned the extra staff they would need! This was to the detriment of those of us who were half-board, we have travelled to Mexico & the Caribbean who are experts in this field & our observations were that unfortunately the hotel have got this so wrong - leave it as B&B or half-board as the choices or open the main restaurant for lunch for those who are all inclusive & don’t serve premium drinks & all cocktails made fresh to order- these are usually pre-mixed slushes with alcohol added for speed. The reason for our re-visits is due to the hotel, we enjoy an evening drink & missed the option of paying cash or charging to our room but most of all the fantastic service that we know the staff love to provide. The refurbishment has certainly improved some areas, but they should have refurbished all areas, & we did think they would add a few more tables & chairs in the bar area. We are not saying we will not return - but if we find the ambience of the hotel changes then our next visit maybe our last - & we are a couple who love to have a good time!!
