    “25th anniversary”

    The trip and hotel was spectacular! Hotel has undergone multimillion dollar renovations. Our room was impeccably clean, comfortable bed and modern upgrades with a spectacular view of pools and ocean. The staff was terrific and super friendly. Pool bar served great and strong drinks and bartenders made the experience fun. Overall the beach at Barcelo is by far the best beach on Palm Beach... soft sand and spectacular views (not too crowded with touristy crowds and activities/events like some other beaches that seemed more tight... overall the beach was beautiful in this resort. We found this hotel catered more to adults ... not really a place with too many kids and we were happy about that. Close walking distance to all shopping and outside restaurants which is a plus. Only one item... individual hotel restaurants are great... buffets could be better but a wonderful vacation spot. We will be back!

    “huts a real problem/all inclusive too high”

    I love Aruba. We own at Barceló and come each year. We had so many issues with huts this year it made it very stressful. Also the cost of all inclusive is so expensive. Our friends own at Rui and their fee is only $85 a day and offers much more. I never have complained but it really needs to be easier and better so we can enjoy our time. We are here one more week Hope it becomes better.

    “My take”

    The weather and the beach is always good But with little to no pool side service and towel cards meaning you only get one towel and if misplaced they look at you funny if you ask for another one and with 4 kids well you get the point so that put a negative spin on things. Rooms where nice. Food average. Over all it is a one and done would not return there. They do offer a few things to do with water sports but no one will inform you of what the are (not sure why) They have speaker by the pool bar which is nice but can't be heard around the pool which is annoying. Never enough seats around the pool or beach unless you are up at 6:30am to hold something which is same to be said for any resort anyway Over all my review is average at best One thing I did like which was more of an island wide thing was no one was hustling you to buy stuff ect

    “The Barcelo Aruba is completely average, but its employees are wonderful”

    When you arrive at the hotel like most Island resorts you enter an tile reception area that is not impressive. The check in process is simple enough and the people at the desk were very nice. The room we stayed in was 2513 overlooking the pool area. The view was nice, noisy with door open, but not a ruckus. The room are old, but the bed surprisingly comfortable and furniture outdated. There is a frig. cold soda's, water and limited beer. The bathroom had a stall shower and all marble with limited towels. we did request more towels, however that seemed to be something they did not want to part with. Pool towels and bathroom towels seem to be a high security priority. The food completely average, some Restaurants a little above average, some below. That also might be a personal taste thing. My opinion are the buffets are adequate. Japanese Restaurant was very nice. Mexican did not impress me, but the Waiter Edgard was superb. However, my friends loved the Mexican. Italian Restaurant was a B+ in my opinion, but the ambiance was awesome. Seafood B+ as well. Make all reservation for specialty Restaurants as soon as you arrive. The Beach area is crowded and Palapas are impossible to obtain. The pool is small, but designed well to use the swim up bar. Again, we found all employees to want to make you happy. The drinks are poured correctly, they will get you as drunk as you want. In general the Beach is very crowded. The hotel is located in a very good area. It also has a casino, it just opened and it seems like it. There casino is not ready for high rollers, but next door is the Hyatt and there casino is much nicer. There is all kinds of tours and beach activity. The beach is sandy and some good/great restaurants on beach or close by. You will have a good time, do not expect to wowed. Unless, you have never vacationed before. The weather in Aruba is outstanding and consistently beautiful. 82' and slight breeze, don't be fooled by its comfort wear your sun screen

    “Excellent 16th time at this hotel Occidental Grand Aruba/Barcelo Aruba”

    First the staff is excellent. Start with arriving Roland greets us and takes our luggage then we go to vacation club Marolyn who is fabulous checks us in and makes sure everything is perfect. Restaurants for breakfast Claudia the server greets us the second she sees us great service. Dinner reservations the Italian is the best Armond is also fabulous remembers and treats every guest as if you are family. Lobby and Pool bar employes excellent, friendly always happy. Entertainment Lenny lobby bar excellent. Shows in the grand ball room excellent. And most important Eugene the manager is outstanding from our very first visit always ask how are you, welcome back, how is your day is there anything you need always smiling and you see him everywhere every restaurant, lobby by the pool. Always stops and says hello. Barceló is so lucky to have the staff they do and I hope they appreciate it as much as the guest does. I highly recommend staying there. The food except the Italian for us is not the greatest but everyone has different taste. We do go out to restaurants when we are there Driftwood is great it is all in what you like.

    I love Aruba. We own at Barceló and come each year. We had so many issues with huts this year it made it very stressful. Also the cost of all inclusive is so expensive.
