    “Still Amazing”

    Visited this resort again Nov 2017. It is still a great resort to go to. Close to town and the staff here are just incredible. Everyone from the maids, to the pool bar staff (Lala, Alyuche, Morgan) to the buffet staff, and even the entertainment staff. Especially Bruno, great guy. It is a shame not seeing Jorge at the pool bar. The food selection at the Solymar buffet wasn't the greatest due to renovations/construction at the buffet. However the short walk to Arenas buffet made up for it. If you want to meet fun and friendly people, have a blast and make memories then do yourself a favor and visit this hotel.

    “Zumba at Barcelo Solymar!! ”

    I would like to thank Barcelo Solymar for welcoming us and taking care of my Zumba Retreat! I had brought down 42 students and The Solymar accommodated our every need of having our classes run smoothly 4x a day!! The entertainment staff was amazing!! The bartenders amazing! Always made you smile and laugh! And the waitresses and my maids heart were pure of gold!! I m going back in January 2018 with 2 more large fitness groups and from now on, any fitness group I bring in Cuba will be with Barcelo Solymar! Thanks again and see you in January 2018 for 2 weeks again!

    “pour le prix exellant hotel in varadero for everything ! party very close to the hotel”

    Hotel avec des familliale mais bonne ambiance pour varadero ....beaucoup de jeune 18-35 ! proche de plusieur club 5m a pied . Hotel fwith familly but good yung atmosphere for varadero .... a lot of young 18-35! close to several club 5m walk. !! I I I will defenetly come back... food was not bad for cuba

    “Terrible holiday”

    We came here 2 days ago, and finally this is our last day. My experience in this hotel is really bad. I read most of the comments and really i did not understand how people comment good things. First of all, food is really terrible. We could not find anything to eat. Maybe we could eat pasta but i tried once , it was really bad. pastas,rices etc seems like dough, gruel. Normally we dont eat pork but if eat pork, i am sure we dont eat here. And non of the tables are cleaning after someone went. There are some blue american services on the table, everytime i saw they were not clean because they are not cleaning. Knives,spoons,forks, glasses are not clean,also. i could not drink any water there, i always drank from my bottle. Abd rooms; the furniture is so old. except furniture, room looks like dilapidated. And the bed is broken down. Every morning i am getting up with a backpain. Wifi does not working in the room, just in lobby. And last night i saw pest control in the restaurant.And it was made me think whether there is insects or not in the restaurant. it makes me feel very bad. the only good thing is beach but yesterday weather was cloudy and rainy so we did not understand anything. but on the beach i recommend they should put wastebins between sunbeds because i saw lots of cigarettes on the beach.

    “Bad staff, bad animations, rooms full of humidity”

    Cuban are not good workers, never says good morning, rooms are humid even in the new part, rated at a 4 stars hotel I know in those countries it's less but come on varadero is international this is a bad 2 stars Food is ok in the buffet but they never clean tables, they never change the table set in over 10 people passing at the same table - disgusting Most of the hotel is in renovation so you can lay at the swimming pool, hear noise from machine construction, seeing plumbers, electricians passing with their materials.... Animation = 0! they have 2 tennis rackets for thé whole complexe, 1 volley ball for 7 courts same for basket ball So you imagine you are never Going to play, and as the staff says «  that’s not my problem »

    “Terrible holiday”
