    “Wonderful beach, sunsets and staff!”

    This was my fourth trip to Cuba and my second time at the Barcelo Solymar. I would definitely return to this resort because of the awesome beach, sunsets and staff. If you are looking for fine dining, luxury accommodations and top shelf liquor then don’t go to Cuba. If you are looking for fabulous beaches, stunning sunsets and friendly people then you may also enjoy the Barcelo Solymar. Even though the resort was at full capacity there were chairs around the pools and on the beach for a group of six adults and a baby at all times of the day. The food and accommodations are adequate if you aren’t too fussy. Members of our group described Cuba as being kind of like Costco – sometimes items are available and sometimes they are not. Some days there were hand towels and some days there were not, some evenings there was mint for mojitos and some evenings there was not, some mornings there were onions for omelets and some mornings there are not. Overall though, we ate well and no one got sick.. We did, however, run low on bottled water in the rooms with more than one person, so perhaps the resort could leave a bottle for every person registered to a room. Special thanks to the following people who helped make our vacation awesome: - Onay, who booked our a la cartes and lined us up with tour guide Lucia Perez and driver Nivo for a wonderful tour of Havana - Luis the waiter in the buffet who helped keep our group together - Marisela the housekeeper who did a great job and made awesome towel art Thanks to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable – hope to see you again soon!

    “my second home :)”

    been going there since 1998, went to VRA severatimes, but I always end up there. I already stayed here 12 times and would go back and again ... let me put it this way, it ain't the Ritz, but it is very clean and the staff is polite and friendly. especially when they know you, and have seen many of the same staff members there. my spacial thanks to my Brothers Ernesto. and Yvan, hope to see you soon...

    “Wonderful vacation!”

    I was apprehensive to visit Cuba with just my daughter. However, we both LOVED Veradero. The resort was adequate with lots of good things and only a couple of ok things. Rooms are clean but the hotel needs updated and maintained. The staff is AMAZING...all of them. Wifi is horrible but forces you to take a break from technology! The food is bland but lots to choose from so you won't go hungry. I will return.

    “Don't go there . Pay more and got more. ”

    The food and the room is discausting. You will be loot by the service. It is not supost to be my problem if they don't have change . If you want to be screw up side down i sugest you that hotel. The beach is bautifull but it's the same at every other hotel so take another one. The travel agent working for air canada , Angel , will surly be late and is a crook who laught at clients like the rest of the staff.

Your original reservation was made for "Hotel Palma Real". For external problems: flight delay - you moved that extra-night to Barceló Solymar. You were granted a "free upgrade" as a way of compensation, to one of the highest levels of hotel. Your change happened only for 1 night and we are surprised that you could perceive such a bad opinion in a short stay. According to our Quality and Customer Service records, there are no received reports of anything from your room 1180 or with the food / service during your stay. It is quite understandable that we cannot please the hundred percent of our guests as the food will always be a subjective matter but we find your rating and judgment to be surprising, based on the wording and adjectives used, downgrading us so low, so as to use such terms like "discausting" food, which is not usual in our company. Contrary to your perception, a very large majority of our guests, and the reviews on this site tend to find the food we serve, to be among the best offered on the island and we are very sorry to see your rating to be so extreme.     “Great hotel for the younger crowd!”

    I've been to this hotel 3-4 times already. It is definitely a hotel that is good for the younger crowd. I would not stay here if your there with your family or honeymoon etc... I had great times when I've been there!

    “Wonderful vacation!”
