    In the heart of the old town... You can explore whole city easily... Helpfull staff, not great but good breakfast, clean and comfort room... This hotel is a Smart choise for Prague... I will come again...

    “Close to it all. Can't get a better location. Breakfast buffet pretty good. Rooms average. Bathrooms chintzy.”

    Close to it all. Quiet, small hotel with a cute lobby. Breakfast buffet convenient. Great closet & storage. Rooms need more lighting. Chintzy pillows. Floor sticky on arrival. Housekeeping did not restock bathroom or offer clean cups & glasses every day. ?? But great location trumps any negatives. Staff helpful.

    “Excellent place, outstanding support with organising a group accomodation”

    This historical hotel is perfectly located in the historical Old town centre, at the beginning of a pedestrian zone. The room was perfectly clean, well equipped and spacious. The breakfast was rich proposing a typical choice for this level of hotels. The service at the reception was efficient. As we were with a group of over 30 people, both check-in and check-out were very well organised so that the group did not waste time. The organisation for such a group was very professionally supported by the hotel management. Requests and enquiries were always timely and efficiently addressed. E.g., we received full support for bus access arrangement, for selection of rooms for guests suffering dust allergy etc. Both the organisation and the stay were a great pleasure and many guests indicated they will not hesitate to return to Barcelo Old town hotel when back to Prague.

    “Disappointing service and finishing in the perfect location”

    In short the location of this hotel is great. Cleanliness is impressive and food from the lunch menu and breakfast was good. The hotel was a good base for exploring Prague but we doubt we would stay there again. We felt that we were made to feel that we were being difficult when complaining about problems our first room and service was generally a bit lacking. More info below: We felt welcomed on arrival with lots of information on the town and a glass of champagne each. We had a problem with the first room (the shower did not work). Reception were quick to call maintenance but our request for a free cup of coffee while we waited was not entertained. The new room was not as good as the first. Shower worked but the toilet door did not shut properly from the inside, light switches did´t work. I feel given the money paid, if we are given a second room then the hotel should be sure that this one is free from faults. We were keen to get on with our holiday. How much time can one spend complaining on a four day break. On the first night we arrived back to the hotel and the bar was closed. We asked if we could get a drink on room service but were told no. It would have been nice to have a place nearby recommended. We asked room service if she knew how the airconditioning worked. She did not but also did not seek further help. We worked it out. Wifi was patchy in both rooms on the top floor and finally on checkout the employee tried to charge us again for the room that we had payed for in advance on booking.com. Training is required at this hotel.

On the other hand, and regarding to your comments about reservation paid through booking.com, it sounds strange to us due to booking.com is not allowed to charge for the rooms, CC is given only as guarantee and is the establishment the only one who is able to charge for the services.
