“Very nice stay at Bavaro Beach Palace”

Just returned from a very nice one week stay. If you go definitely get the premium level. Access to the lounge, dinner reservations, and more private breakfast and lunch options are worth it. Panoramic suite is huge and is something to experience. Some reviews I saw prior to our trip had me a bit concerned with the food quality but we were very pleased overall. French restaurant was very good, Italian and Santa Fe were good as well. Don’t expect 5 star meals but overall very good. Variety at the breakfast and lunch buffets is good but the quality varied. Staff is friendly and helpful but English skills may lead to a communication misunderstanding. Golf course is very nice and can as challenging as you like, $75 cart fee is a bit steep. Beach is beautiful, lots of space to get away from the crowd, keep in mind there is seaweed in the ocean and it does wash up on shore, deal with it! Areas for improvement, WiFi limited to two devices, a couple with two phones and two iPads needs more. Beach towel policy (one per person) is a pain, other resorts have done away with this and let you get more than one if you want. Only one swim up bar means that pool is crowded. Entertainment was just fair. Premium level guests have access to top shelf liquor in the premium lounge but have to pay for it elsewhere, if you have a premium wristband why the hassle? Resort credits are impossible to use unless you are a spa or golf junkie. Companies offering excursions are tucked away in a corner, didn’t find them until late in our stay. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would return.

    “Great Place”

Great rooms and price. Great beach. Food pretty good but needs a better reservation system for large groups. Staff friendly but at times, lacking in ability to accommodate guests needs. Specialty restaurants good but you must book ahead of time to get in at a reasonable time.

    “Christmas in Paradise”

Our family of 10 enjoyed another lovely Christmas traveling to Punta Cana. The was a beautiful complex. We had the Premium level which we appreciated. When we arrived our family was in 3 separate buildings. Two of them were close to each other but the room my husband and I had was a way from them. In addition we were all supposed to have ocean front rooms. From our room you could not access the ocean or see it. We went up to the premium lounge and spoke to Elvis. Amazingly we were moved to a building next to the other two families and ocean front. We couldn't believe how accommodating and helpful he was. Access to the private dining for breakfast and lunch was much more relaxing than the main buffet. We enjoyed the specialty dining except for the Mexican restaurant. The service in this area was horrible. The staff didn't bring menus for all the folks at the table , we had to go out of the restaurant to get a drink and the staff generally acted like they were put out by our table of 10. The French, Italian and steak house were good and the staff were more than helpful. The food was really good an all inclusive resort. Grandkids loved the ocean and the free room service you get at the premium level. There was plenty of activities to keep folks busy if they were interested. I would definitely consider going back.
