    “Third times a charm...”

    This is my 3rd visit to this resort and I'll go back again. I love it there. The beach is awesome, the restaurants are great, the staff and service are great and the grounds are beautiful. We stayed in an oceanfront suite which is just an awesome room! The golf course is challenging with a lot of water and I played it 5 times this visit. My favorite thing of all is the adult pool on the family side called El Cielo. There is a bar there and the wait staff took GREAT care of us again!!! Big shout out to Marcia, Yessenia & Starlin who took great care of us the whole 11 days we were there! They are pleasant and attentive and recognized us as return "friends" our last two trips! We also rented one of the poolside beds for our entire stay which is a must in my opinion. It's a great place to take a nap in the afternoon after getting up early and playing golf! It says something that we went back for our third visit, and I ran into at least 5 other couples that had been there 3 times or more as well. One of them over 40 times! That says a lot about the resort in my opinion. Love it there!!!

    “Fabulous location, fantastic room, but ..”

    We stayed in this fabulous hotel for 4 days over the Christmas period after being on a cruise of the Caribbean. The hotel's location is perfect, right on one of the most sublime beaches. The room we stayed in was fantastic - complete with a jacuzzi bath on the terrace from which you could look through the palm trees to the beach beyond. The facilities at this all inclusive hotel were second to none. There are numerous restaurants and bars, several gorgeous pools and activities organised throughout the day. The problem we had was the food. There was plenty of choice with regards restaurants and a huge choice in each of them. But - the quality of the food did not match the gorgeous surroundings. Luckily for us, we had eaten excellent food on the cruise, too much I think! So comparably the food was very poor in the restaurants we ate in at the hotel resort, but it did mean that we came back from our 21 day trip weighing pretty much the same as when we left. We are not fussy eaters, but really felt the food was a let down.

    “Paradise”

    My fiance and I just returned from our third trip to the resort. The resort is very well kept, staff is great, very clean, beach is perfect. The variety at the buffet is amazing. So much food to chose from and all fresh and delicious. This trip we stayed at the Majestic Mirage which is a brand new resort about 7 miles down the beach. It hadnt been open 30 days and was supposed to be 5 star but they rushed the opening and had many major problems. We checked out of the Mirage three days early and paid out of pocket to come back to the Barcelo Bavaor which we loved. We thought we would try a new resort and learned our lessonn. If it aint broke dont fix it. The Mirage beach which is close to the Hard Rock is very choppy and very windy. We had been told that by many other people. The beach is very calm and no wind at the Barcelo Bavaro. I have no complaints about the Barcelo Bavaro. LOVE IT

    “It's very pretty,but....”

    The grounds are pretty and well maintained though could use an update in the lobby and entrance. My family and I traveled together for a week. There were 19 of us. At one time or another during our stay, about half of us had stomach issues...either due to the water (which everyone was very careful about!) or the food. Friendly staff which helped as much as possible to get our dinner reservations all together most nights. The food was okay but have to give them Kudos for trying to please everyone's different food pallets from around the world. Beds were comfortable. The water from the shower however, got all over the floor. No great privacy in the bathroom area either. They had sliding, frosted glass doors...which were heavy and loud as they were opened and closed. I would highly recommend the Premium guest level for the premium alcohol and other upgrades. BTW, in the premium guest services office: that is the ONLY place in the resort where you can get it. So its sort of a pain to keep going back and forth for cocktails. We brought our Tervis tumblers for this reason! Would I return? I'm not sure yet...the stomach issues for my family were pretty severe and lasted on and off for 2-3 days...

    “"Amazing Resort"”

    Our vacation was amazing. The staff at the Barceló Premium were very professional and friendly. The rooms, service, amenities and food were excellent. We are planning in returning. Kiki and Mabel from the Premium Level Guest Services were so professional and helpful. All the staff from the Barcelo Bavaro made our stay enjoyable.
