    “Meh...But good enough”

    This is like the Toyota Camry of all-inclusives. It gets the job done, runs well enough, relatively economical. But if you're looking for "bells and whistles" and aesthetics, this is probably NOT the place. We were there on a dive trip, so our primary entertainment was the diving. If we were there for the resort, I wouldn't have been terribly pleased. But it's probably best it wasn't a super nice resort since I would have felt rather out of place dragging my smelly dive gear through people's relaxing atmosphere. Better place for partying, not honeymooning (but everyone has different preferences). Food/Drink - Pretty good food. Varied enough that everyone should be able to find something they like. Minor complaint -- there's a couple hours gap between each of the 3 meals, so if you're like me and don't eat at conventional hours of the day, you'll be hard-pressed to find anything other than old pizza. Major complaint -- as a coffee addict, I was sorely disappointed that "specialty" drinks like cappuccino, latte, etc. were not available after the breakfast hours (or they were, but for extra $...at an "all-inclusive".....) Drinks were pretty much customizable, but if you're looking for presentation, you'll be disappointed. Like I said...Toyota Camry. They had alcohol and you can get buzzed, but the drinks are served in cafeteria style plastic cups and weren't aesthetically pleasing. But hey....not a big deal. They did seem to consistently run out of Bailey's and Whiskey though. Pools - Good. I'm sure it's difficult to keep super clean with a bunch of drunk people swimming around in them, but maintenance probably could have been a bit better. Activities - Fun group of people running the activities. I think they had enough activities throughout the day to make it entertaining. Rooms - Good. I liked that they had a fridge and coffee maker in the room. Beds were a bit hard, so if you have back issues, bring something to lay on top. Our first room had a major issue, in that twice a night - around 9:30PM and 2AM - the room would fill with cigarette smoke. I woke up every night and had to sit outside the room for hours waiting for it to clear. After the 3rd night, I finally said something to the front desk and they moved us to a different room. All good after that. So I appreciate them accommodating us with that. Service - Good. Front desk, bell hops, maids, bar tenders, dining room wait staff were all good, friendly, helpful. Would I go back? Probably not. But I'm just "bourgeois" like that. ;)

    “Allegro Playacar”

    Great location, only a 20 minute walk to 5th avenue, wide variety of beach activites. Staff is nice and welcoming, the food is great. The rooms are clean, tv access, theatre shows were nice for all family, didnt get to try the kids club this time, great scenery!

    “Great, low key stay at Allegro Playacar”

    We travelled to Allegro for a week for our honeymoon Sept 30-Oct 7, 2017. The resort is very nice and clearly and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food was better than expected and very tasty. We tried all the a la cartes, which were all good. The buffet always had a food variety and never for boring. This is a very relaxing resort. Not the kind of place you go to party. It is quiet small and mostly European vacationers, and not a lot of English being spoken. I would love to go back to Playacar as the community was beautiful and very safe. There is a Starbucks a 5 min walk away with free wifi. 5th ave and shopping was only a $6 cab. We loved that each room had a hammock, and we used it a lot. No complaints aside from quite a bit of rain while we we there- but that is obv not the resorts fault!

    “Dive trip 2017”

    The reception desk staff do not speak or understand much English which made it difficult to communicate. The front beach pool needed to b cleaned more often. Thatch roofing not acceptable if you have mold problems. Servers, pool bar staff and entertainment staff are excellent.

    “Wonderful Vacation”

    This hotel was wonderful and staff were amazing. It was clean and well kept. Resort is on the smaller side but it was fantastic, the staff is absolutely amazing! Bartenders remembering orders, dining staff remembering faces and the front desk staff to guide you with any concerns. Rafael, Alejandro, Moises and Claudia were always making jokes, getting us what we needed and making sure we were having a great time. All of the staff always had smiles on their faces and were super friendly. The entertainment staff always got people involved in activities and made the day even more enjoyable. The beach was gorgeous, it was generally clean with not a lot of seaweed. When there was a bit of seaweed, it was nothing that got in the way of the beauty of the water and beach. Very pleased with my stay here. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks for the services and I hope to see the lovely staff in the future!
