    “Wonderful Restaurants”

    We had a fabulous dinner at Rodizio and the service was exceptional also. The Barcelo Palace has beautiful restaurants and everything we ordered was very good. Thank you to Angel Canche and Benjamin Jimenez for making our evening so enjoyable.

    “Second visit, still incredible”

    This was our second visit and the palace didn't disappoint. All the good things you read about are 100% true. The food is great, the beach incredible and the staff outstanding. There are a few things that need addressing though: 1. Immediately after we checked in we tried to book the Japanese restaurant. There were literally no available for the entire week. Not one. Unacceptable. There has to be a way to ensure people in the palace have a chance to use the restaurants. 2. We were given bracelets that said Barcelo Beach because we booked through Transat. Other family that booked through Sunwing had bracelets that said Palace. There was no difference to what we had access to but several times we were questioned by bar and restaurant staff because it looked like we booked a cheaper hotel and were trying to take advantage of Palace amenities. Twice we talked to the front desk but were told this was the policy because of who we booked with. Unacceptable. 3. A couple of days an ice cream cart showed up by the pool. The flavours were on a board facing the "customers" but the price list was conveniently hidden and the ice cream was EXPENSIVE! I don't know how much additional revenue the hotel makes this way but not worth the bad impression it leaves on their guests. 4. The dolphinarium is cruel. This should be removed and the dolphins returned to the wild where they belong. Such beautiful creatures being coerced to do stupid tricks for tourists. For shame. Please think twice before supporting this with your tourist dollars. Outside these 4 things this hotel was really great and we would return.

    “Amazing Staff!”

    I had a ton of fun staying at the Barcelo Palace with my family. What made it even better was the great staff at the resort. The service at the restaurants was great and we loved the entertainment staff too! Everybody worked super super hard and were really sweet and caring people. The entertainment team knew what fun was and made this trip go by fast! We would like to thank Diego Higareda and Julio as well. Both amazing people who looked out for everybody and loved doing what they do for a living!

    “Lovely resort”

    Stayed in Palace, premium level. Recommend doing this. Positives - premium level service, room locations, evening dinners, dolphin experience, buffet's (loved the taco/fajita stations and fresh juice). Great service the whole time at buffets and restaurants, particularly at the Mexico Lindo (forget our servers name, but he was outstanding). Negatives - tried to go banana boating one day and this wasn't available. Hard to get a list of activities/shows. There was a big corporate event on and our neighbors were partying to all hours. Tried to get security to shut them down to little avail. Even spoke to the security guard at 4am and he just smiled something, obviously not realising how frustrated we were. Would have been horrendous if we had kids. Bought this up with premium services the next morning to which we got a sub standard response, with no offer to help alleviate our frustrations. Shouldn't pay for premium service/rooms and get put next to a conference group who are just there to party to all hours. If we didnt have that one experience, we would have sung this resorts praises. Unfortunately that left a bad taste from an otherwise superb experience.

    “Good to relax and enjoy the sun (and food)”

    I enjoyed a lot staying at the resort. Staff was very friendly, rooms were tidy and food was delicious. There are planty of various activities to do, also excursions to interesting places. Good time for whole family.
