    “Glad we only had 5 days ! ”

    I think the below pictures says it all. What large hotel chain decides to do major works to their heated pool over the half term week. I understand only from being here it is under a new management transition. I booked 5 nights as a break with my daughter. On arrival we toured the hotel. One of the major pools was empty ( heated one, needed especially in the early months ) and I enquired on my return to reception to pick up our room key, it's not a problem all will be good by tomorrow, was what I was told ! Next day major tree works commenced round the pool, nightmare ! Well the pictures below are taken on our last day! Lovely shade of green. We tried to speak to reception again, but with very little communication, major frustration. Not only that but the health and safety aspect had your heart in your mouth, with kids around it.For the first few days it was totally empty. I would say a good 10ft drop all round. We weren't made aware of this before we travelled and I am aware my agent wasn't either. I would have chosen another option. I have currently put a written complaint in to them. Thompson Reps appeared this morning couldn't believe what they saw. Have to say bar staff, animation team and dinning area staff lovely ! Reception and front of house staff need to learn a bit of honesty and how to deal with paying customers. Fit for purpose, definitely not !

    “Not a four star”

    On arrival outside reception having building work done,not a good start. Found that there was only one swimming pool not the two advertised by Thomson's heated pool had been out of service for weeks. As week progressed we had gardeners cutting trees down,builders working on the pool with grinders,drills etc, then two days before we came home they decided to revamp lobby pillars and change the furniture. The restaurant was very poor ok in the morning and dinner time awful at night, queued for 15mins one night took to a table to find it had not been cleared nor the 20 other tables, left to stand by a table while it was cleared,when cleared we were not offered any wine etc, obvious not enough staff. Pool bar was the worst I have ever encountered and the lobby bar paper cups for coffee etc and machine breaking down regularly, not a four star , the manager should do what we did and use the hotel cross the road he might learn something of how a four star should be run. Believe it or not we did enjoy our holiday, ate out the last three nights, we did not enjoy some parts of the hotel but Tour operators should have informed people about the work being done in a few weeks they may have finished but check before going. Onsite Thomson rep was very good and helpful.This is a true review of our time there cannot believe some of the reviews

    “dissapointed”

    Returned back from this hotel on wednesday after 10 days , room comfortuble , but could do with a paint job as one of the walls was scuffed and marked, beds very comfortuble, dining room was a bit like butlins holiday camp , food very repetative , chips for breakfast, water in room on arrival, but then you have to pay 1.5 euros for a small bottle, not enough seating in main bar at night. childrens pool ok, the large heated pool was shut for repairs, men sanding and drilling all day dust blowing into other pool that was freezing cold you could have had a heart attack if you jumped in it. Wi fi was very expensive 25 pound for a week , one hour free in bar, i have never paied for Wi fi before in any hotel i have stayed in, even a 3 star , this hotel supposed to be a 4 star, not enought tv channels we had a few bad rainy day, so couldn.t go out, couldn't even watch tv, staff very helful and freindly.

    “Top class Hotel”

    Clean and friendly, good food varied and tasty. Entertainment in the evenings of a very high standard . Accommodation was great and cleaned everyday . Animation team worked very hard and always friendly .

    “Family Hotel”

    If going as a couple I don't think this is the hotel for you, more suitable for family holiday.One redeeming factor was the food which was excellent, plenty of choice and always hot. Hotel seems to be in a state of renovation and new ownership. Could be be better and probably will be when the refurb is complete.
