“A hotel with a great view.”

Awesome view of the ocean from your room. Plenty of choice regarding food, but will have tried them all in the first 3-4 days. Not a lot of variety from one day to another. Rooms were clean and everything was well looked after. Multiple pools and Snack bars to eat at all day round. Close to the beach and shops, but not many Bugs were spotted inside the restaurant on two different occasions in a 7 day stay

    “Barrow Fuerteventura”

For the most part we enjoyed our stay at the Occidental Playa in Jandia Fuerteventura. Although we were not informed of the full closure of the pool bar until the day before, and did not appear to show any signs of reopening when we left. The reception bar opening times were reduced by 6 hours a day. Our room was clean on arrival and kept clean by the house keepers. Restaurant staff were very effective in keeping the tables clean and replenishing the available food.

    “Worst Holiday”

We have just returned from a weeks holiday. First impressions - Butlins Hotel Room - on arrival we had to call reception to fix a broken patio door unable to lock. Room smelt of drains no air conditioning. When asked about the air conditioning I was told it is on a timer and does not come on until the tempature outside reaches 24 degrees. I am sure other rooms had air com. Restaurant - No atmosphere it was like eating in IKEA. Food - Average nothing special. Location - Very Good. Hotel staff did not find very helpful. Unfortunately my Husband became ill during our stay with a Gastric bug and a chest infection. With a hig tempature I asked once again about having the air com switched on and explained my husband was very unwell. Answer sorry on a timer. The Fan in the room then broke called reception said they would send someone to fix it. Never happened. On departure asked if we could stay in the room until 2pm more than happy to pay. (Explained my husband was very unwell) Sorry no we need the room. My husband had to sleep on the sofa’s in reception for three hours while waiting for our transfer. To sum this up it was probably the worst holiday we have had.

“Few improvements could be a GREAT hotel”

This Hotel is large and based on the south of the island - The hotel rooms are in independent blocks from 1 to 9 . Block 9 is furthest from the main hotel but is closer to access to the main road and a short walk out of the back gate to the sea. Stayed in a deluxe room but believe all the rooms have sea views. Check in isn't a speedy affair it takes some time .Once done there is a golf style cart to take you and your cases to your block. The hotel is clean and the rooms are well kept if you don't want your room cleaned you can leave a privacy card in the door . There are no tea/coffee making facilities the rooms but if you ask at reception they will provide a kettle and makings at no extra cost. There is a fridge and Hairdryer. There is also a safe for which you have to pay 3 euros a day ( in my opinion it should be free). The bed is a good size but made of of 2 beds so you always have a small ravine in the middle :-) There is plenty of food but it is always luke warm/cold we saw a trolley with hot plates only once throughout our stay. There is a microwave though so we heated our food before returning to our table. You can only get tea and coffee at breakfast at other meal times the table is replaced with sangria. There is a snack bar half way down that opens in the day you can make your own toasties have slices of pizza, chips or salad along with cakes tea ,coffee beer and wine. The staff are all very helpful and accommodating. There is entertainment most nights in the Theatre/piano or lobby bars and varied in its entertainment value. The Bar staff have no way of taking cash/card if you wanted to pay for upgraded drinks and ALL the bars close at 11pm, it isn't just for there all inclusive which stops at the same time but you can't even buy a drink as they are all closed. Most people were getting a few extra drinks before 10:45 Should you become ill whilst you are there there is a visiting Doctor. The times are displayed on the door to the "surgery" at the back of reception. There is shop on site but there is also a SPAR out of the back gate. There is onsite parking for a fee but there is plenty of space that is free on the road outside so don't pay On the whole a good hotel but with a few improvements they could be a Great hotel .
