Reduced capacity in common spaces and leisure areas (subject to recommendations from the health authorities at all times). Unnecessary decorative elements (mainly stationery) have been removed from the rooms. Staff wear protective equipment, and bed and bathroom linen are washed at temperatures above 60 ºC.

For breakfast, we have replaced part of the buffet with table service in order to avoid food handling to the greatest extent possible. Depending on the hotel occupancy level, shifts may be implemented. If this is the case, you will be informed at the hotel reception. Macusamba Cafe Bar & Lounge will continue to provide its services as usual. The spacing between guests will be respected and the arrangement of tables in each area will be redistributed in accordance with the 1.5 metre spacing.

Guests must wear a mask when entering the restaurants, and guests must bring their own mask.

Specialists have indicated that the safest method of maintaining hygiene is frequent disinfection with hydroalcoholic gel, which is mandatory whenever serving food from our buffet or coming into contact with any frequently touched surface.  

At Barceló Hotel Group, we are highly committed to sustainability, and we prefer not to generate plastic waste if not strictly necessary.

However, guests may continue to wear gloves voluntarily, if desired.

The hotel is following the advice issued by the public health authorities at all times. Currently, masks are compulsory in all outdoor and enclosed spaces whenever it is not possible to maintain a safe distance of at least 1.5 metres. Guests must bring their own masks.

There are no time restrictions nor time slots. It will be open as in previous years from 10.00 to 19.00. A minimum space of at least 1.5 metres will be left between groups of sun loungers. In order to ensure their proper use, bookings are not permitted.

The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has adopted a series of preventive measures for the use and enjoyment of the municipality’s five main beaches, which are posted at all their access points.

When on the beach, guests can use all the space available on the sand, except for the area occupied by vendor stands and sun lounger rentals. This will always be done while respecting the recommended social distance of approximately two metres between individuals or groups. 

Las Teresitas beach will be divided into four sectors in order to estimate attendance numbers and guarantee that social distancing measures can be followed. A grid with flexible dimensions will be placed in sector 1, specifically between beach access 0 and 2, intended for visitors aged over 65. It is not compulsory for these visitors to use this exclusive area. However, it is recommended, given that this age group is at highest risk during this pandemic. The sectors, marked off in sections of dry sand, will measure approximately 400 linear metres wide. In the strip closest to the sea, taking into account the changing conditions of the tide, there will be a free movement zone between sectors to walk and to access the bathing area.

The monitoring schedule to control beach occupancy will be from 09:00 to 20:00. 

Each beach access point will have informative panels to provide information on the current occupancy level of each sector, which will be marked as low, moderate, high or full. One or more sectors of the beach may be closed if a situation occurs in which it is deemed impossible to comply with health regulations. It may also be possible to direct the public to other sectors with a lower occupancy. Signs will also be placed on the strip of sand for each sector with the terms and conditions of use.
