Gastronomic-concept restaurant run by the Padrón Brothers with Two Stars in the MICHELIN Guide Spain 2024 and Three Repsol Suns
Juan Carlos Padrón, the man at the helm of the restaurant, is the only Canarian chef to have received the prestigious Chef de L’Avenir award from the International Academy of Gastronomy in 2017. He is assisted by his brother, Jonathan, the patissier; and Raquel and María José, with their respective partners, are responsible for the dining room and bodega.
As a part of their family history, there has always been a focus on gastronomy, through which they have consistently learned about the essential values of hard work, determination, and the constant pursuit of excellence. For years now, this restaurant has been the most highly decorated in the Canary Islands in terms of awards, the most prominent being its Two Stars in the MICHELIN Guide Spain 2024 along with its Three Repsol Suns.
The cuisine at El Rincón de Juan Carlos has been created specially by the chef, it is coherent and authentic, allowing diners to clearly appreciate the flavours without anything disguising the essence of the dish. A style in which flavour and balance are the undisputed mainstays of their creations, combining the best local and international produce.
The space? At 40 metres above sea level, with breathtaking, waterfront views, it is undoubtedly one of the most exceptional restaurants on the islands. Completely adapted and refurbished in 2021 to allow the Padrón Brothers and their team to continue flourishing gastronomically, it maintains the intimate and informal character that has always set El Rincón de Juan Carlos apart, thanks to the comprehensive renovation led by the interior designer, Mercè Borrell, who is responsible for the 3 times Michelin-Star recipient: Lasarte Restaurant, among other projects.
And the bodega? María José and Raquel, sommeliers, are in charge of the dining room and bodega. A carefully selected wine list and pairings that accompany and enhance Juan Carlos and Jonathan’s dishes. Great local, national and international jewels that seek to reflect the personality of the land from which they are grown and the people who produce them.
