With just 210 km of coastline, Ibiza is truly iconic when it comes to an amazing summer scene, and attracts visitors from all over the world who’ve heard about its idyllic beaches, epic nightlife and great range of hotels.
The most important towns are scattered over the island, with San Antonio, San Juan and Santa Eulalia del Río emanating a very special Mediterranean charm. Don’t miss the great street markets that come to life in high season, where you’ll get a taste of the island’s hippy magic. With luxury accommodation in a natural paradise with the most gorgeous beaches and coves, and Ibiza’s typical whitewashed houses contrasting with the stunning blue sea. Among the most popular beaches are Cala Portinatx, Platja Comte, Platja d’en Bossa, Sa Caleta, Cala d’Hort, Cala Salada and Es Cavallet.
Fabulous exclusive beach clubs dot the coastline, with their irresistible draw of elegant sunshades, Balinese beds and exquisite cocktails. The big hotels in Ibiza have all sorts of whims and extravagances on offer, they’re used to looking after quite a few celebrities.
The capital city, also called Ibiza, houses a beautiful historic fortress within its ancient walls. It’s been invaded by many Mediterranean civilisations, including the Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs, Phoenicians and marauding pirates. Dalt Vila is a maze of narrow lanes flanked with pristine white houses, set against the backdrop of a bright blue sky. A mass of delightful bohemian shops and restaurants run along the base of the city wall and out towards the promenade. Here visitors can enjoy fabulous views of the huge port, with cafes selling coffee and ice cream in the pleasant shade of gently swaying palm trees.
Don’t let the daytime tranquillity fool you...Just like the sun and the moon, Ibiza has two sides. Sunset kick starts the amazing nightlife, with crazy parties that ooze glamour. The trendiest DJs come here every summer to the incredible clubs, offering some of the best electronic music shows and making Ibizan nights a worldwide attraction. Clubs like Magic Life, Pacha, Cotton Beach, Nassau, Bora Bora, Amnesia and Sirocco come alive at night and guarantee you a legend of a holiday in Ibiza.
There are ferries doing the Ibiza-Formentera crossing right through the year, the trip takes about forty minutes and the boats leave the port regularly. As the smallest of the inhabited Pityusic Islands, Formentera is an unrivalled coastal paradise. Getting around is sheer pleasure, and as the island is only 16 km wide, the best way to see it is on a bike or scooter. The lovely coastal paths lead to stunning rural spots with crystal clear water and fascinating lighthouses. Fall in love with unspoiled beaches like Ses Illetes, Cala Saona or Es Pujols, with remote little beach bars tempting you to sip that must-have mojito.
