    “RELAXATION FOUND”

EVERYTHING WE NEEDED! Great holiday. We will do it again. Clean, even at full capacity the resort did not feel crowded. Asian food ala carte was a must do. Staff was helpful and very pleasant. Just the right amount of everything.

    “Best beach in area”

Just returned from a one week getaway with my sister. This is my second visit to this resort and was very nice. This time we splurged a little and took the vip package. This afforded us closer location to the beach, a vip section where we were able to have continental breakfast either inside a small secluded area or out on a deck overlooking the gorgeous water and private pool area. As well daily drinks were set up in the private area where you could make your own the way you like it. Snacks were set up at 4:00 daily and were a nice bonus. On thursdays they had a manager meet and greet with specialty appetizers served by the pool, a bottle of red wine was sent to our room along with a fruit tray, a nice touch. As well we had our own private concierge for our needs, Cristal was lovely to deal with and very helpful. We were able to book our ala carte selections through her as well as discuss our issues with wifi connections that were part of our package. Accommodations were comfortable. However we were on the 2 Nd floor which is palapa style so could be noisy in the “quiet” of the morning when the workers are starting to push around carts and various things. Food and drinks were good, always lots of fruit and vegetable selections. We were able to go to the Japanese ala crate twice and the hibachi table food was delicious, fresh and lots of it. We also enjoyed the Mexican ala crate and the chili poblanos stuffed with shrimp and covered in a walnut sauce was absolutely delicious and decadent, along with the signature peanut butter drink served at the end of the meal. So good. Champagne/sparkling wine is available in the buffet and the ala carts which always makes it just a little more special. Booking a car through fiesta car rentals was easy and our drive to the other side of the island to go to rastas, coconuts and the san gervaiso ruins was lovely. I highly recommend the allegro if you are looking for a great beach, good food , and good customer service

“Just wish the food was hot (temp wise).”

This trip was just a get away for the wife and I to get away from the cold for some time. The grounds of the resort were kept up beautifully. I highly recommend the Jeep excursion, I was fun and educational. Other than the bed being hard and uncomfortable the only real complaint I have about the Allegro was the food, food was always warm at best unless you had the omelet in the morning or what ever was being grilled in the evening.

    “Needs improvement!”

We read all the reviews going into this and knew what we were getting ourselves into....we thought. The staff was very nice. Especially Luis at the splash bar. He seemed to be the only person who went above and beyond. Other staff was fine but the staff at all the buffets leaves a lot to be desired. Barely got coffee refills in the morning and barely got anything to drink at dinner. The lunch buffet staff by the pools did a tad better. Food at the buffets were the same thing every single day or had little variation. No flavor to the food. The Hibachi was our best bet for good food but only if it was the 6:00 reservation. We went to the 9:00 and the food wasn't half as good and too many corners got cut. Would not go back soley based on the poor food and lack of attentive staff while eating. The grounds were maintained well and housekeeping did a good job!

    “Allegro”

The hotel over all is good but you can see that the person in charge of the budget is not investing in the correct places. The food in general is ok but all the cold cuts are extra cheap the cooks are not well trained and for what they told me they don't have enough equipment to work with, small details in the preparation of things make the difference. The hotel spends money in seafood that gets poorly prepared and there are never the correct translations for the dishes in English or just simply non. I eat spicy and I couldn't eat any of the salsas because they where to spicy to the point it's uneatable. The staff is courteous and tries you can see that.
