    “Number one family choice”

    I was worried about coming here because some sites had the location as adults only but I found that to not be the case. Great for kids and great for friends! They may ask you to sit in a time share presentation, which I didn’t do, but the staff remains friendly. Everyone was so sweet and the staff made my kids feel treated like... well the VIP at the house because everyone was so nice. Start to finish, the entertainment is too notch and they work hard in heat that at time can be unbearable over a cooking grill in already hot weather.

    “Allegro”

    This was our second time staying. Staff is friendly. The beach was kept clean. Entertainment at night was good. Enjoyed the mariachi singer, she has a great voice. We were a group of 24 family members.

    “Good hotel but wouldn't return. ”

    Just returned from a 10 day stay at Allegro. I know everyone looks for different things when traveling so below is my pros and cons list. I'll start with the cons just because. CONS: 1. No air conditioning in the main dining room. We did figure out that the al la carte restaurants have AC so you can have breakfast at the Italian restaurant and not sweat to death. Every other day you can go to the Japanese or Italian rooms for AC when they're closed for dinner. 2. Loud music from 10am - 6pm and activities everyday at the pool. Trying to lounge on the beach in peace was impossible because the speaker faces the beach. They have a wild foam party on Saturday which seems excessive and should just be done during spring break. 3. Food variety was limited. They serve the same types of foods for lunch and dinner, it all starts to taste the same. They didn't have a variety of fruits. Also, NO seafood. I've never been to an all inclusive that didn't have seafood. Seems like they use yesterday's leftovers for random meals the next day. 4. Al la carte restaurants were hard to reserve but it doesn't matter because the buffet has Italian, Japanese, and Mexican on their rotation schedule. 5. You have to pay for wifi. $45 for 2 devices for 7 days. 6. Had to ask for the ac to be adjusted 3 times. 7. Bathroom doesn't have a fan or air conditioning so it stays stinky and hot in there all the time. PROS: 1. In walking distance to shops and STARBUCKS! The shops had Sunscreen and snacks that were slightly cheaper than the hotel store. 2. Beach was perfect despite the seaweed problems. 3. Hotel and grounds well maintained. 4. Room was very comfy. 5. Friendly and helpful staff.

    “Playacar First Club”

    We recently spent a very memorable week at the Allegro Playacar. The resort is located on one of the best beaches on the Riviera Maya, within easy walking distance of Playa del Carmen. We spent a very relaxing week in the First Club, thanks to Jessica and Ana, who automatically upgraded our room, attended to all of our requests and questions, and arranged for our room to be decorated, including champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, in honor of our wedding anniversary. Santiago and Rafael at the First Club Bar were engaging, humorous and attentive. The food service at the First Club was extraordinary, with regular limited breakfast, lunch and dinner provided. An infinity pool near the First Club lounge was a quiet place to relax. We last visited Allegro Playacar about five years ago, before the major renovations were completed. The resort was absolutely stunning. The food in the buffets and restaurants was excellent, and the staff were willing and able to provide impeccable service. The improvements and level of service made this a thoroughly enjoyable experience. If you are interested in a first-rate beach vacation, Allegro Playacar provides opportunities for any activity you desire. Our only request would be for some sort of shade over part of the pools, including the First Club Pool. Maybe a retractable awning or sail could provide some cover for guests in the pool during the heat of the day. We have no complaints and would highly-recommend the Allegro Playacar. Thanks to all of the staff for the wonderful service they provide.

    “Vacation stay”

    We had a room near the ocean pool. Nice and clean, Thattch roof with a cotton cover to prevent the thatch from falling down. The stay was good and the entretainment was good. Could have been more up beat. The food was ok could have been more authentic mexican, and more of a variety. Would stay here again maybe during a more busy time to see what else they may come up with for fun
