    “Winter break”

Beautiful manicured grounds. Practically on beach with plenty of sun loungers. Spacious room with very comfortable bed and pillows, Bathroom very clean and spacious and although tired didn't this didn't bother us. Food of every sort for every taste. Of the five included restaurants, Chez Gormet and Brisa restaurants were fab with the others a bit behind.

    “Family wedding went perfectly”

Tremendous vacation in a classy resort - great service, good food, clean rooms and restrooms. Golf course is a nice experience. The Michael Jackson show is a must see. The beach is the nicest and cleanest in the Bavaro area. The Steak House was our favorite restaurant although may were terrific. Excellent shopping areas throughout the complex.

I have stayed at a few Barceló properties in the past. I must say they are pretty consistent in the value and service. I received exactly what I expected and I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

    “my Annual Vacation place”

I really enjoy visiting each year, now that we now all the details of transfers from the airport etc. It's a very nice and friendly place, service is great. We always go premium because you have more options. The breakfast is the best eat as much as you can!! Be careful of scammers trying to sell you things. Second floor is the best, so you can enjoy the views in the morning and evenings. The premium lounge always has treats if you're hungry. We will be back in 2019 again!!

“Beautiful & fun vacation with friends darkened by some serious dark clouds!”

The resort lives a lot to be desired; do not expect to be wowed when you arrive like most of the other all inclusive resorts I had visited before. It’s just plain & not modern at all, not even a swim up bar in the pool. No big smile, tropical drink greeting. Looks like something very old remodeled. The highlight of our trip was our excursion to Isla Saona. This excursion with Ray Herrera is a must; we had a blast !!! Loved it !! Thank you Ray & Benny Batista in the Barcelo activity’s center for such wonderful customer service. The Island was ,paradise at it's best. In the resort a little tip in dollars for all services goes a long way !! No tip, super slow service next time. We always tipped because their monthly salaries are very low. Our room was ok but our toilet broke; we requested maintenance and they never arrived we waited for hours, went to sleep and I had to fix it myself the next day. We only had one soap bar because they are very limited in the amount of toiletries they leave in the room. We requested a comforter one night because the housekeeping department forgot to make the bed with it and it arrived one an a half hour later and we had already gotten one from their linen closet on the floor because we were very tired. When they finally showed up we were already sleeping, they knocked on the door aggressively and opened it but we had put the safety bar on and they couldn't get in and left. We just ignored them. We were just tired of their bad service anyway! Our room keys de-activated almost daily and we had to walk back every time to the front desk which was not close at all. The TV barely had any english channels; I wanted to watch the news every now and then but only got the Weather Channel in English every time because the reception was horrible. My friends found this very amusing, lol To buy souvenirs go on the beach to the left where you'll find the local artists and small huts selling everything at a very good price which you can also negotiate down. Do not go alone please, always with someone else. The hotel store is double the price for the same things. There's much more variety with the locals. The food at the main dining area was not too good; it was cold, salty and they do not offer much of a variety. My advice is to take the little tram to Barcelo Palace next door for all your meals and entertainment and the restaurants are there anyway. Just sleep in the adult only hotel if you must and do everything else at the Barcelo Palace next door. As a seasoned 'All Inclusive" traveler I would not recommend this resort. Their service personnel is very slow & limited and our friends; a same sex male couple were totally ignored for service at the bar. Finally, if it wasn't for the fact that we were a group of friends having fun anyways I would have switched to another place.
