    “family birthday vacation”

the resort was amazing! the beach was even nicer! I didn't use the spa or gym but both looked great! I especially liked the deck above spa with infinity pool, it provide a beautiful area to sit and view beach or stars at night! there was a shopping mall. I did not go on any excursions. my favorite dinner was at the Mexican restaurant one interesting item wine and beer or champagne were offered with dinners but not mixed drinks.

“Not as good as last year”

This is a very nice resort with beautiful and large pools and a great and very long beach area. There are plenty of lounges on the beach and natural shade can be found with the numerous palm trees on the beach. The beach area accumulated some sort of reedy type grass which was not removed from the beach during our week's stay. It was annoying to walk through and made entering and leaving the ocean unpleasant. Pool lounges can be hard to find after 10 AM. Buffet food quality and variety seemed to take a step down from last year. Quality of food at the specialty restaurants is not up to the standards of the Barcelo Maya Palace resort in Riviera Maya which is a disappointment. Evening entertainment is uninspired and amateurish. The main show starts too late at night (10 PM) for our tastes. It would be nice if there was live music played in the middle of the resort in a casual setting from the hours of 7 - 10 PM to provide entertainment for those not wanting to see the late main show. The Casino does not offer much in variety of slots as most of the machines are very old and boring. There is live table gambling with poker and black jack. We really enjoyed the Coffee and Rum bar but would have appreciated having it open all day. It would be great to enjoy special coffee and drinks all morning and afternoon. The Carey Lobby bar is nice but we would enjoy a lobby bar outside in the open air rather than the air-conditioned confines of the Carey. The Carey bar strikes one of being in any hotel bar anywhere. We loved the open-air bars of the Bavaro All-Adults resort. We enjoyed our stay but given the choice we would select the Barcelo Maya Palace in Riviera Maya.

“Three Generation Family Holiday All Inclusive.”

We just returned from a wonderful week at this resort. As we were adults and small children including a baby, we required many different levels of service. We were not disappointed. The service was beyond expectations. The staff were more than accomodating. Rooms were spotless and there was more than enough choices of food for all, from finicky children to vegetarians. Buffets and restaurants in abundance. The mini suites are spacious and they all have outdoor patios or balconies. If arranging for the family suite I would suggest upgrading to deluxe as it is difficult in the evening out with 3 children to find space away from bedrooms for parents. There is a water park and large splash pad and family pool as well as an adult only pool. They even have a shopping mall! This is a very large property so be prepared for walking and be sure to bring strollers. We would definitely return.

    “Great holiday”

Wow, this hotel was amazing. We staying in a junior suite, with jacuzzi on the balcony and it was definitely with the extra. Views amazing, staff friendly, drinks premium. I would return. I would add that we didn’t find the premium buffet for breakfast/dinner until the last few days, had we known we would have visited everyday. Food was fantastic in general except the French restaurant.
