    “Great weather”

    Spacious room and view of ocean was great. Pool areas was great but short on lounge chairs which was exacerbated by the resort not enforcing the 1/2 rule for reserving lounges. So if you wanted a lounge in the shade, you had to get up very early (before sunrise) and get your towel on the spaces before 0600 hrs or so it seemed. Initially food was actually quite good although after two weeks it got predictable. Resort was a smaller venue so easy to get around and find everything; however there was always line ups for the buffets, not sure why. All in all a place worth visiting

    “Barcelo Huatulco review”

    First time visiting Huatulco for my husband and I loved the friendly people and hot weather the resort was clean, down fall was food wasn’t very good Buffet style. Exept for the restaurants you had to book into they we’re good but hard to get into.This resort has very little shade finding a place to sit was a challenge. Disliked how there was only two bars and when the pool shuts down the only bar that’s open was the Lobby bar, which got packed in the evenings if there was a band playing in the lobby which was another challenge for a Seat. the beds in the hotel room were good. Wasn’t expecting the adult pool to be so close to the children pool wish it had some separation, they played good music at times when you could hear it, didn’t play any music at the pool bar.

    “Good not great”

    Pros: Clean updated room, nice pool, beach and the view is great, the a la carte restaurants had good food Cons: service is not great, very difficult to get a drink at the bar and it is always rushed, drinks are mixed very weak, a la carte’s are very hard to get into so you must try and book them your very first day. The buffet food is not great, usually not hot and very bland, basically the same food every day, not a lot of fruit, service at the buffet is terrible when you order drinks they just never come back with them, premium guests are always served at the bar before regular guests even if the regular guest was there first. There are never any sun chairs available, when ever you look around there are more towels and personal items on the chairs than people, they say this is not tolerated at the resort but they do not enforce it. Also they don’t play music at the pool bar, only way over by the kids pool so all you here is just a distant dull beat of music, the pool bar also has a waterfall in front of the bar that constantly splashes into your drink. As you can see there are more cons than pros, I don’t usually expect to much from a resort but the drinks should be easy to get and the food should be good, Huatulco is a nice place and I will probably return but I would not stay at the Barcelo again. Maybe it was just our experience because I read a lot of good reviews on this place before coming here but I just did not see any kind of good service here, if the resort improved their service this would be a far better resort.

    “Great vacation!”

    This Barcelo resort is very conveniently located on a beautiful beach in Huatulco, where you can snorkel right there in the bay! Everyone working at the resort were very friendly and accommodating and the other tourists were all really nice and fun too! The resort is a little bit dated and not very aesthetically built or decorated but it is well appointed and very clean. The beds are comfortable but the pillows were not so and we were glad to have brought our own. The food was excellent in both of the buffets. We ate at the a la carte restaurant El Agave, which served regional Mexican dishes and that was excellent. We really enjoyed our evening there. We also ate at La Fontana one evening but didn't enjoy that one. It was dark in there, had extremely cold air conditioning and the food and service there was so so... They completely forgot to serve dessert to 2 out of four of us. The drinks were pretty good at the hotel, but you could only get basic quality liquor unless you were a premium guest, which didn't seem fair, especially to one person in our group as there were a few things that he favored, which wasn't included for us. The evening entertainment is ok... We went one night but didn't return because they use the fog machine between every performance, which was irritating to our lungs and eyes. On the whole though, this resort suited us and everyone working there was really nice and happy and accommodating. We had a fun time! Kudos to Marciel, our waiter on the beach, for his fantastic service!!! And also to Mateos for helping us with our rooms.

    “Very Nice Stay”

    The friendliness of the staff will stand out the most when you stay here. Smaller resort so nothing was ever very crowded. Food could have been a little bit better, but it is tough catering to so many different tastes. We will be back.

    “Barcelo Huatulco review”

    “Great vacation!”
