    “Girls trip”

    A few of your staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and like friends, made our stay that much more special, jazmin from spa. Bryan the mayan, Marisol and Adeiol, nit sure spelled correct. All were super friendly and fun. Thanks for making our trip that much more special!

    “Good but with reservation”

    The resort is nice nothing to say about the facilities, the food but I have reservation with customer service. We did not get the type of room we asked for (communicating room) we had to wait until 10 pm to get our baby crib which was on the reservation. When on the kid got sick and throw up in his bed the maid said she could not change both bed sheet because the hotel was full, Being full for a hotel should be good that mean you should be profitable but is this really bad excuse of not supplying the basic services like replacing bed sheet. If you lack personnel or material to supply the services when you are full, it is a management issue! the customer should not suffer for it

    “Pool, beach, activites, room amazing! Food - whoa it's gone downhill!”

    Repeat visitor... We had a great week of weather - so we were busy doing activities around the pool and resort as always. Paddle ball, snorkelling, water polo, aquafit, sports bar, swimming in the sea, walking the beach. All great! Upgraded to premium so we enjoyed the poolfront room with extra space. Better tequila is a huge plus because their house liquor is horrible. The aquatherapy circuit at the spa was wonderful and a huge perk of premium. Getting a la carte restaurants was a nightmare. The new Adult all inclusive section has taken over the resort. Even with premium, getting in to restaurants was a joke of a process. Now - on to the food. Except for the Italian restaurant, I felt like the food was average at best, and often terrible. The breakfasts...awesome. The beach buffets have gone downhill - no fresh tacos, the chicken wings were rubbery, the soups kind of nasty. But the a la cartes is where it really fell down. Even at Brasserie, where we paid extra for a different experience, the food was sub par. They just can't cook beef! Unfortunately, I think we might look elsewhere for our vacation next time. Somewhere with better food, more activities in the evening, better front desk service. ps - the rest of the staff were, as always, hard working and accommodating.

    “Octavio Medrano - outstanding bellman at Barcelo Maya Colonial”

    All of the staff at the Barcelo Maya Colonial are great, but Octavio consistently went the extra mile to make sure Chris and I had an outstanding vacation. My wife is recovering from recent total knee replacement surgery and with the expansive size of the Barcelo Maya resort this vacation could have been a disaster. Octavio came to the rescue, anticipated our needs and showed up each and every time with much needed transportation around the resort. In addition, he is extremely kind and fun to talk to.
