    “The worst ever!!!”

    First of all I want to say that the property was beautiful, weather, pool and beach exquisite but as far as anything else goes worst experience in my whole traveling life and I travel a lot! I recently traveled to Punta Cana for the first time for a friends wedding. We stayed at the family Bavaro Palace Resort, not only was I charged for a 2 year old which I couldn’t understand but Ok I paid it, as I felt she would be using the services. However, every time we went to a restaurant in the evening and my 2 year old was asleep I would ask for a container to take some food back to the room to feed her for when she woke up but we were either refused to take food out of the restaurant or they didn’t have containers which first of all 1. You’re a family resort 2. I’m paying for a small child and I can’t even take food out to feed her?! I have never experienced this before. They stated that it’s due to food bacteria one may get on the way out BUT how come they’re not worried about food bacteria in the restaurant where the Buffet is placed? There’s flies everywhere, most of the food is uncovered, and the food stays out that way for several hours. A majority of the staff are racist and lack basic customer service. Even though I am Latina myself I felt that If you are not European they would treat you like second class citizen. I couldn’t understand that concept because being Hispanic themselves why would you act that way. If those folks only understood how ridiculous they look they wouldn’t really play themselves in that manner. In any case moving on, then let’s say you’re at the pool and you forget to bring your towel from the room don’t even think of asking for a towel in the towel section because you will literally have to walk back to your room, it be10 or 15 minutes away. You’re on vacation for crying out loud, do these folks really think you’re going run away with those hotel towels?! The hotel goal is to welcome their guests and make them feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible so they return and tell their friends. How RIDICULOUS!!!! Why would you ruin people’s vacation like that?! Moving on, drinks are watered down. The Food tastes bland and again being a Hispanic country I can’t understand it. WIFI was spotty and at times did not work. I paid $4K for a family of 4 for 4 nights and 5 days and you’re telling me, I couldn’t be accommodated for basic requests and for things that should have been included. I usually dread going back home and on this trip I was counting down until I returned back to NY! Worst experience ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

    “Overall good, annoyed at "kids club" and fee for wifi and extra water park? $1000 resort credit is bogus!”

    Just returned home from an extended weekend (Th-S) with my husband and 3 children. We came to this hotel primarily so we can have family-time, utilize all the kid-friendly waterparks, send them to Barcy Club/daycamp and have babysitters at night and go out, as adults. I was annoyed at checkin when I was told the $1000 resort I thought I had was bogus, and only a "discount" for things like spa, room service and babysitting. That's annoying! Having to pay for wi-fi everyday is also annoying. These little things that they nickle and dime for frustrates me when you pay a lot for seemingly "all inclusive". The sushi restaurant was good, we did hibatchi, mexican, and the coral fish restaurant- all were good for dinner. Buffets were just OK. My kids are picky eaters and struggled a bit initially to find food they liked, but there was a really good variety. **The Golf-club cafe restaurant is the real secret Gem at the resort, all food is prepared la-carte off the menu, so it's super fresh to order, unlike the buffets. Make sure you make reservations for dinner restaurants the minute you settle down. They fill up fast and you usually need a reservation at least 24 hrs ahead of time- or you're stuck eating at the buffet. I was annoyed when I wanted to send my daughters ages 3,5 to daycamp- the kids were just sitting there in a crowded room watching TV. No real engagement from the staff (I understand there's language barrier, but my kids begged me not to bring them back again). The two waterparks that were "included" were great for my little ones, I was annoyed you had to pay extra for the pirate park. Again, really? Overall, we had a nice time as a family. Kids were thrilled to be in the water/beach all day. We utilized the PM babysitting services (Martitza was a great nighttime sitter), we went to the SPA for hot-tub before dinner. They're open until 9pm, so that's a good adults-only option. Staff was really friendly, make sure you come with about 100-150 $1 single dollar bills for gratuity, because everyone is helping and looking for compensation! We stayed in a family duplex room, which was nice. I ordered two cribs, and they initially gave me an issue with getting the second crib (protocol supposedly only allows one? not sure how that makes sense but ok). We were stocked with robes/slippers for ourselves and two for the younger kids which was cute. Towel situation was a bit annoying, you couldn't replace unless you gave back the old one. People would steal towels off my chair, probably for this reason- and it was annoying to deal with.

    “New Year's Family Vacaton”

    We had a fabulous week at the Bavaro Palace over New Year's. Fabulous resort and by far the best beach in Bavaro Beach! We booked a family room which was perfect for our family of 5. Each of our 3 kids had their own beds. The beds were really comfortable. We had our own room and the kids had their own room. Both rooms had balconies. Rooms were well maintained and cleaned every day. Lots of staff! But their English is very limited. Our youngest really enjoyed the Kids Club. A decent number of activities. The golf course was great. It's difficult and lots of water. So if you are planning on playing bring lots of golf balls. The course is well maintained and the rentals are decent. Not many on the course so we were able to play quickly. Kyoto Teppanyaki was our favourite restaurant. Very interactive. Make sure you tip the chef. Important to note that all males over age 12 need to wear long pants in the restaurants that require reservations. They don't tell you this when you book your reservations. Mexico Lindo is a great choice as well for dinner. La Dolce Vita is good as well. Zumba dance classes were fun on the beach. SUP, Catamarans and Kayaks were good. Only thing I'd like to see improved are the tennis courts. They need to be resurfaced. Tennis clinics would be a good addition to the Resort.

    “Girls Vacation”

    This Place was so great to be at with friends we had a blast I had a allergic reaction to sea food but we had the allergy meds and even that happening I still had a blast with them. I would definitely go there again anytime This was Aug 2010 the below button does not let you choose other dates

    “Fantastic 6 day family trip”

    American family of 5, three teen daughters. Beautiful large resort, very friendly employees, great service. Upon arrival there were a few maintenance issues in our room with the televisions and bathroom door, management immediately arrived and other employees within minutes and corrected by replacing TVs and fixing the others issues. We treat people with a greeting and respect and that is what we received from employees. The employees are very hard workers who do a great job. There are so many people that made our stay a great one, although there was no pressure at the resort, we tried to spread out tips as best we could, it helped to bring a stash of $1 and $5. The grounds are well maintained, all hours of the day and evening. The specialty restaurants had delicious foods, the main buffet was also very good with a lot to choose from. From airport to resort, only about 20-25 minute drive. I would not hesitate to return.
