    “Christmas in Paradise”

Our family of 10 enjoyed another lovely Christmas traveling to Punta Cana. The was a beautiful complex. We had the Premium level which we appreciated. When we arrived our family was in 3 separate buildings. Two of them were close to each other but the room my husband and I had was a way from them. In addition we were all supposed to have ocean front rooms. From our room you could not access the ocean or see it. We went up to the premium lounge and spoke to Elvis. Amazingly we were moved to a building next to the other two families and ocean front. We couldn't believe how accommodating and helpful he was. Access to the private dining for breakfast and lunch was much more relaxing than the main buffet. We enjoyed the specialty dining except for the Mexican restaurant. The service in this area was horrible. The staff didn't bring menus for all the folks at the table , we had to go out of the restaurant to get a drink and the staff generally acted like they were put out by our table of 10. The French, Italian and steak house were good and the staff were more than helpful. The food was really good an all inclusive resort. Grandkids loved the ocean and the free room service you get at the premium level. There was plenty of activities to keep folks busy if they were interested. I would definitely consider going back.

“Great Family All Inclusive Resort With Everything”

We just returned from spending our Christmas as a family at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace and it was better than expected! I had read many reviews and was a little concerned but read many positive ones and decided to try it for our holiday vacation. The resort is absolutely beautiful, extremely clean and our service was excellent in every area. The staff works very hard at keeping the property in immaculate condition at all times. The beach was beautiful and as for the seaweed that was mentioned in a few reviews, there was a lot of people working early every morning to clean up all the seaweed as well as some late afternoons...including Christmas Day! The water was clear and very enjoyable. We would like to thank Elizabeth Severino, Llanda DL Cruz and Norberto Almonte for excellent pool side service and drinks! The drinks were very good and we felt the amount of alcohol in them was most definitely sufficient. The pools are beautiful and kept very clean. A lot of space and many choices of areas to sit. Christian Ogando at the towel stand was such a pleasure to see everyday as he helped swap out our towels for fresh ones each day and offered dry ones if a rain shower passed through occasionally. He was always smiling and offering a hand if we needed help. Many games and activities by the pool for every age group. Water sports and activities staff were also very helpful and easy to work with in planning activities. As for the many options for eating, there is something for everyone and every taste. Our 16 yr old son loved the Sports bar food and relaxing while watching sports. Felix Mardy does an excellent job of managing the Sports bar and he made us want to come in just to see him and enjoy his hospitality! Our favorite restaurants were the French (La Comedie), the Japanese and Mexican were our next two favorites, Steak and Italian were ok but certainly not bad and we didn't try the Spanish. The buffets were great and we really enjoyed our breakfast and lunches at the Coral as they were open due to the booked resort for Christmas. We loved seeing Rosaria Guerrero and Juan Guerrero at the Coral every day! They were very personal and gave excellent service. These people work extremely hard and were working double shifts during the holidays at most all locations and never stopped smiling or delivering excellent customer service. They really appreciate a nice smile back, compliment and even a tip to acknowledge their efforts and hard work. There is something for ALL ages at this resort and I highly recommend it for a family vacation, wedding or special occasion. We have stayed at many all inclusives in Mexico and a couple in Punta Cana and we would defintely return to the Barcelo Bavaro Palace. I do also highly recommend the Premium Level as the benefits helped to make our trip as perfect as we could ask for!!

“Premium is worth it but the food sent us to the hospital”

We had a family suite premium level at the hotel. Our room was very spacious offering a king bed in one room and 2 doubles in the other. We had 2 full bathrooms with double sinks in each one with a bathtub/shower combo and one with a shower only. There was also a Jacuzzi tub on the patio outside. The room was clean but not to our standards. The maid was not great and eventhough we tipped her everyday of our 14 day stay she did not do anything extra. The premium level is worth it as we had access to a paid waterpark for free and it was the only place on the resort where chairs were plentiful and we could go anytime of the day and get a spot no problem. We also go discounts on the bowling, laser tag and free mini golf. The problem with the resort is the food and the staff. Very few staff speak English at the hotel. They are nice and they try hard but they just don't know English. The food was way below par and in fact my husband got Salmonella poisoning and ended up in the hospital for 2 nights. You shouldn't have to be careful with what you eat at a 5 star resort but at this one you do. I also ended up with food poisoning but did not stay in the hospital. I did have to go to 2 different pharmacies to fill the prescription they gave me. Food safety is a big concern at this hotel so it is for that reason that I would never go back.

    “Excellent Experience”

My husband and I went to Barcelo Bavaro Palace for a relative's wedding and decided to take a few extra days for vacation. The wedding was supposed to take place in September; however, due to Hurricane Maria, it was changed to December. We had a great experience. We stayed in the Punta Cana Suite Room 6460, which had an amazing view of the beach and plenty of room (including a jacuzzi both on the balcony and in the bathroom). It was a good little walk to the main area, but we didn't mind the beach front walk. The food was very good and always available. The staff was awesome. Our housekeeper, Yaniris Guerrero, provided outstanding customer service. She went above and beyond everyday to ensure our room was clean and that we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. My husband and I were very relaxed and happy with our stay.

    “Frankie saved our trip!”

The first two days I swore I would never go to another Barcelo resort. Customer service is horrible!!! Then, we met Frankie, the restaurant manager, and we ended up loving the rest of our trip! He took care of us and gave us the customer service we should have received but he even went over and beyond. Check-in took forever, no reservations available at any of the restaurants, food was not good at the buffets, customer service was non-existent, no beach/pool chairs available unless you wake up early and go save them. However, the shows were great and the sit-down restaurants are the best, go early in morning to save seats at pool/beach and meet Frankie as soon as possible! So, I would definitely go back if Frankie is there. If he is not there...not a chance! Thank you Frankie for saving our trip and making it wonderful!
