Royal Level at Occidental Punta Cana reviewed by BigStinkDog on . A little misleading and more like a 3.5 star than a 4 star but all in all a decent vacation. Checkin is as described - Brutal. 2nd in line at the Transat private checkin and it still took 45-60 minutes to get a room and not a renovated room with a king which was what we asked for. Not all...     “Punta Cana Spring Break”

    My family and I ventured down to Punta Cana this year for spring break. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip here. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Our favorite part of the trip was our bar tender Wilton Evevas. We made a point to see him everyday while we were there. One of the most kind hearted souls I have ever met. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to try someplace new. Their entire focus is tourism here so you are treated wonderfully here.

    “My Great Trip”

    We go to Punta Cuna every year and it only gets better!!!The women in the Royal Club were all so helpful and extremely friendly. This is the only place we plan to vacation!!! The food in the Royal Club was wonderful, prepared beautifully and quite tastyl.

    “Great beach! New chairs! Restaurants were delicious!”

    I really loved my stay here. Only down sides were rooms took forever to be cleaned and brought fresh towels. And the animation team on the beach and at the pool needs to be improved. A bar on the beach would be a good improvement, or add bartenders to the existing bars.

    “Welcoming place”

    I was there with my mom last week. We arrived early so the room was not ready so we had it at 15:00. We paid for an ocean view and I was not disappointed, it was facing the ocean at the beach, renovated with a jacuzzi on the balcony. The room and the hotel site are very clean. The buffet is good and has a good variety. We tried few restaurants, the Oriantal and la Hacienda were very good, food and service. As for the steak house that's another story, we arrived 5 min before our scheduled time, the hostes asked us to come back and step outside even if thre were empty tables. At 8, a server step outside and ask us to come inside, I gave my reservation paper at the same hostess and looked at her watch and finally sat us at a table. The service was slow and the food wasnot very good, we left before the dessert. I don't recommend that restaurant. I noticed many managers going around the grounds and in the restaurants wich was great. Only few negatives points, no free wifi, on the beach it's difficult to find some shade there's not palapas. I want to thank Santiago Rosario and Williams Tejada from the front desk, they were so nice and efficient for our check out.
