    “A place to visit”

    We stay for a week since I wanted to scuba and my son 13 did his open water cert here . For the scuba it´s by far the best place in Cozumel since you are close to all the nice dive sites and Prodiver is a fantastic organization with the best instructors you can find. The hotel is very nice with good size rooms and amenities and beautiful gardens , the beach is great and very calm , you can snorkel right there . Food is just average I will say , they could do much better with a little effort , and service is soso . You pay a premium for WiFI ( usd 40 for a week ) and don´t have coverage in most areas , only in your bedroom and lobby.

    “Always a good resort”

    This is a consistently good resort. We prefer a smaller resort. The beach is lovely and the snorkeling is good. The pool is good and the beach bar service is quite good. We recommend upgrading to the Royal Club for more restaurant choices and a la carte options.

    “Relaxing Vacation”

    Stayed for 2 weeks from Feb 2nd to 16th, 2018. Awesome beach and beautiful surroundings, great snorkelling right off the beach. We enjoyed an upgrade to the Royal Level, and want to say a huge thank you to Daniella who kept our room so clean and nice for us. Another big thank you for the wonderful meals and service we received from all the staff at Le Carretta. Hotel is older but everything was kept nice and clean. Resort is quiet and great for 40 plus crowd, which was the predominant clientele while we were there. There were a few kids and some young adults, and everyone seemed to find something they enjoyed. We always found something we liked at the buffets, although we did find the beach buffet at lunch was very repetitive. A huge thank you to Carlos, our wonderful beach waiter who always had something to cool our thirst during the hot days, and to Santos up in the lobby bar who always welcomed us with a smile. Shout out to Erika and the other Spa ladies, you are wonderful! I cannot speak highly enough of all of these individuals who truly went out of their way, every day, to make our vacation special. The Hobie Cats which were advertised as part of our package were broken, and we were not able to use them for the 2 weeks that we were there. That was one of the reasons we booked this resort, so that was very disappointing and we did mention this to the management. We also had problems initially with getting a kayak, but were able to do so after the first week. Booked with Transat, had previously had a wonderful flight with them about 4 years ago on a beautiful plane. Long story short: terrible service, did not live up to their end of our contract, including my pre-booked seats booked last August, could not find the rep at the resort, reps from other tour companies actually helped us regarding info and travel times back to the airport. The planes were filthy and uncomfortable, and they should be ashamed of themselves for the way they are crowding people in on these planes. I am disgusted with Transat and will make sure I tell every person I can that their service and actions were totally abhorrent. I would definitely return to this resort but would never again travel with or recommend Transat unless they change their policies and the way they treat people.

    “Great hotel”

    I would recommend the Occidental Cozumel to everyone. I had a wonderful 2 week vacation. Food was very good, rooms comfortable and clean. The property is beautiful. The only thing missing were not having Palapas on the beach for shade.

The reason that we do not have palapas in our beach, is because we prefer to keep our beach as natural as possible that is why we have many palm trees on our beach that provide shade for our guests.     “Occedental”

    Nice resort. Was a dive vacation for us and the dive sights were all very close to the resort pier. Food at all the restaurants was good. Beach with snorkeling area was very nice. Staff was friendly and professional. Would recommend

    “Great hotel”
