“10 nights at Occidental Xcaret Royal level Amazing”

I stayed 10 nights and it was very relaxing and entertaining. The food is very good at each restaurant. The resort is big so there is only something to do.When you walk around the resort you can see a variety of animals. It is a nice place to make new friends. The staff are very kind and useful. And for the room, at the royal level where I stayed they are fantastic. I strongly recommend this hotel. Thanks to Anneth, Paulina and Mitzi for the excellent work and support they give me.

    “Nice "Nature" resort”

Let's deal with the elephant in the room first, not the best beach. The man-made beach was OK but not what you would want if you're primary concern is enjoying the ocean. It's a long walk from the main lobby area, it's tiered down so there are 3 levels of seating, and the actual waterside beach is 35-40 feet from the water's edge. That being said, we knew this so we were not terribly disappointed. Now for the resort itself, it was great! I'll start with the rooms, they were nice and the beds were very comfortable. I was a little surprised that the rooms had two full beds and not queen beds. We traveled with family members and they had 3 in one room and struggled to sleep two in a full bed. The A/C worked well and the rooms had a ceiling fan (nice touch) so the temperature was very comfortable. There was plenty of closet space, a working safe and nice TV with enough English channels to keep you entertained for the little time we spent in the room. The food was some of the best I have had at an AI. If you can't be satisfied with the main buffet, you're a prima donna that should stay home. The ocean side buffet wasn't quite as good but the view made up for slightly lower quality. The specialty restaurants were very good and had a nice elegant touch. Paco Taco's was very good, I just wish we could have eaten there more. No matter which place you pick to eat, you won't leave unsatisfied. I'll throw the bar service in this section. Again, one of the best I've seen. Most of the liquor was mid-range and none of it was bottom shelf. The bartenders generally knew what they were doing and provided generous pours. In other areas, the pools more than made up for the beach and were very nice to hang out and drink. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We were politely asked about doing the time-share, massages, tours, etc. but we politely declined and no problems. My mother-in-law traveled with us and had hoped to get by with her walker. The resort was nice enough to loan us a wheelchair when the distances turned out to be too far. On this note, let me second what others have said, do NOT go to this resort if you have mobility issues. We managed with a wheelchair, but it was a lot of pushing over rough terrain. We were by the main lobby and it still took 10 minutes to get to the dining room and 30 to get to the beach. This resort is built around nature and it delivers that very well. The paths wander through the grounds and there plenty of wildlife to see. It is truly a pleasure just to walk around this resort (as long as you don't mind the heat, but it is Mexico so deal with it). If you book this resort with the expectation of lots of walking, laying around the pools, drinking cool drinks, and enjoying good food, you'll have a great time.

    “Great place”

Clean rooms, free bottled waters, great variety of foods at buffets, great atmosphere. Animals around outside are nice to see. A lot of different styles of pools, entertainment all day. Park was nice ,could be seen in a day, but extra costly activities could be an extra day.

“We will be returning in the near future”

This was our first vacation, and we couldn't of picked a better place to go, all-inclusive, food to die for, great staff, and in general just a wonderful place to go no matter what age you are. The entertainment was for everyone, the excursions where breath taking and it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. We will be coming back and bringing our family along the next time
