    “Romantic holiday”

My husband and I have just returned today from a 7 day all inclusive adult only holiday. There are a lot of good things here, but a lot of things that need rectifying, this hotel was taken over by Barceló chain and has recently had a refurb and opened a month ago. I will try to keep this as short as possible - When we arrived around 12 noon, we were told that you cannot check in until 2 or 3pm, this is the hotel policy. Fortunately our room was ready for 2pm. We were told to go get a drink and something to eat, but there was no explanation as to where to go, lucky we found the pool bar 10 minutes later. From the first to last day, we were constantly asked for our room number to charge food and drink to, and we had to explain we were all inclusive and show the staff the band on our wrist. ( by the end of the week, we felt as though we should be paying for the food and drink). We went to our room and unpacked. We had upgraded, so we had a large balcony including spa bath and beds. When I tried to fill with water, it leaked all over the floor, so I phoned reception to tell them of the fault. The reception explained that the spa was plumbed to empty the water onto the floor of the balcony (??) and that to get cold water, you had to turn the tap to hot, if you wanted hot then turn the Tap to cold. She also explained that the plug was closed if you turned it anti-clockwise. After this mishap, we relaxed and when for our evening meal. Restaurant - The food that was there was excellently cooked, but there are no vegetable or potatoes to accompany any meat. Desserts were already cut to a small square portion of approx 1" square. Never any icecream or cream was available. Bar - After asking 4 different members of staff, we were told that cocktails can only be served in the day, as the hotel bar has no equipment to make them. Only Cava, Heinkein and maybe 4 spirits are included in all inclusive, all other drinks were €6 each. All soft drinks are free. Beach side bar - This bar can do cocktails, but only one cocktail of the day is included in all inclusive, all of the others are payable. Entertainment - There is none at all - no live music in beach bar and no entertainment in the hotel. We asked many times, and kept getting the same answer ' if the hotel was full of empty, there will be no entertainment, sorry'. Cleaning of rooms - Out of the 7 nights of being in this hotel, 2 nights we had to ask for towels as the room had not been cleaned. Another day the room was barely done, as we were sunbathing on the balcony. The final insult to finish our holiday off was the pick up coach time for the return flight. Flight time 1050 Coach time 630 but we were asked to be there 20 minutes early =. Travel from hotel to flight time 4hrs 40 mins Flight time 1050 Taxi. 815 Travel time 2hrs 35 mins coat of €49 travel time to airport 35/40 minutes As this 7 day holidaycost us over £2000 for a week, and the last of services we received that was advertised, we will not be returning. This is a shame, as it would not take a lot to make this hotel a very good choice for couples who want to have a relaxing time

    “Very nice!”

We stayed here 4 nights and it was lovely! The room was beautiful, very comfortable bed, great shower, perfect! The food was excellent and all the staff very friendly. There are some details that could do with improving. For example offering some snacks at the pool bar outside lunch hour and offering some water in the room. We will come back!

    “Lovely new and modern hotel”

Rooms are very modern and clean. Publics areas and pools are also very well maintained and very peaceful. Staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help. Breakfast was included in the room rate and we were provided with a good variety of breakfast foods. The views over the beaches or Portinatx are beautiful.

    “Newly refurbished hotel”

My husband & I were staying for a few days to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Lovely welcome, offer of cava or water - nice touch. Shown to our room (superior sea/pool view). Balcony with 2 deck chairs & interestingly an outdoor shower - don't really see the point of that - we didn't use it. Hotel opened after a refurb 2 weeks ago - very clean & room was good. Shower excellent. Lavazza coffee machine - we have one at home, but espresso cups were too small for the quantity of coffee! Interestingly also a kettle, but no tea or teacups. I used a saucer for our bar of soap as no soap dish. Other toiletries good - shampoo, gel, conditioner & body lotion. No shower mat - we used a hand towel - had to be careful to make sure the door was not fully closed or flood! Fridge supplied which is always good. Breakfast good - range of fruit, juices, cold meats, cheeses, hot range of food & eggs to order. Ate once in the restaurant on our 1st night - excellent. My husband rated his steak v highly, my pig's cheeks were delicious. Pools good - we stayed by big pool during the day, and moved to the higher pool to get the sunshine until c 7pm. Attentive friendly staff - we had a light lunch in the beach bar twice - good range - we shared a pizza & Caesar salad. I had latter again next day - much better. I guess staff are all new - and their enthusiasm shows. I only found out on here that there was bar on the beach - there is no information supplied in the room. Teething problems I guess - if you are going in the near future be aware that there is still work on-going - drilling etc. On a final note - steps - everywhere. Not suitable for the elderly or infirm. I didn't count but reckon 100 steps over several levels to our room. This detracted from my enjoyment to a degree. Overall a nice hotel, and I gather a great improvement on the previous regime as it is now adults only lower noise levels a reduced for neighbours. I would like to have rated this a 'good' but there is no category, so average it is due the start up learning curve and my comments above. Overall I don't think we'll return. Parking is also an issue - there is limited space in the street - none dedicated to the hotel. We parked on a muddy area - fine when it's sry - it rained. Someone also pranged our car as space was so tight.

Dear Elaine, We would like to thank you for your kind words and your precious time spent with us. We have just born, we could say, one month open right now and we are putting all our efforts to get better every day following the company values. All our staff will be aware of your nicest comments to give them even more confidence in their selves and make a better job day by day. Also, our guest’s comfort, quality of food and service it’s always our first priority. We appreciate your suggestions and can guarantee that each day we achieve a new goal. The idea of the shower on balconies is to refresh yourself after a swim at the beach or just a cool shower outdoor under Ibiza’s sun. Our apologies concerning the lack of some products and dishes in your room, for these cases you can always call reception dialling 9 from your room or advise any of our staff who will be more than glad to supply your needs. We have had small building works unfortunately, just to finish some trivial things and some unexpected technical problems which now is done. Portinatx is on a hill, this is an issue to everyone that visit our village, it was not possible to design the hotel without all the steps we have, anyway we are thinking in modern solutions for a near future. The other big issue in Ibiza Is parking area, the hotel tried to have our own parking area but we have no ground close to us, it’s a common thing over the island to go to very exclusive places and park luxurious cars in difficult terrain. Warm regards
