    “Very very good”

    My family and I visited the resort for a week half board from 8th to 15th Feb for my daughters 21st birthday. After a very good flight from Birmingham with monarch(the flight was no more than 2/3rds full so lots of empty seats) we arrived to find out that our 2 superior bungalows we had booked were not available but as compensation we were upgraded to all inclusive package. Nice result as the room we were given was a 2 bedroom bungalow and was absolutely first class. The resort is well placed for nice little walks out to local shops and restaurants and is completely spotless and really well maintained. The food at every meal time was tasty and varied with Valentine's night being really special. Entertainment was the usual fare for big hotels and not my cup of tea but the entertainment staff were hard working and really friendly and good fun, so that said my ownly tiny gripe is that the ownly place to have an all inclusive drink at night is the main theatre and having to sit through the mini disco but there are lots of other bars in the marina complex to get a drink my fave being el faro an open air bar overlooking the beautiful bay. All in all a very nice break in a lovely hotel and we will definitely be going back.

    “Disappointed”

    We have just returned from a 14 night stay at the Castillo Beach Resort. We had a 1bedroomed bunglaow which was very spacious but very outdated with no ventilation in the bathroom so hence the mold in the bedroom and bathroom. Our bungalow was over run with tiny little ants, they were in our toothbrushs I know it's difficult to control so we went out and bought a spray, the maids cleaned every day and were very helpful they work hard for there money The complex itself is really big the hotel was busy whilst we were there but you could always find plenty of sundeds. The swimming pools are salt water and to be honest could do with a good clean or even re-tiling, and very cold There is a lifeguard on duty from 10am all through the day. The entertainment at night is typical holiday entertainment, If all-inclusive all the drinks you serve yourself. There's not a place where you can site and have a quite drink,every bar is outside and in February it's cold at night, I really thought like other hotels you can have a drink in the hotel reception area but not to be. Right the food........utter rubbish, we only ate in the hotel restaurant on 7 evenings, Caleta de Fuste does have some beautiful restaurants though. Everything was cold and tasteless. If you like pasta and sauce then you will be well away as this was served every night! There was always plenty of fruit, the salads and cheeses were sparse which is mainly what I wanted. The breakfasts were disguting, sloppy scrambled eggs, bony, burnt bacon, the sausages were disgusting, however there was always plenty of fruit, cereal, different breads so you would never go hungry. The selection of desserts was ok. Would I return to the Castillo - no. Stayed First two weeks in February 2017

    “Good Holiday”

    Enjoyed our holiday - we stayed for a week with a 5&8 year old. Great location as you're on hols within half an hour of landing. Rooms ok, first room we had an issue with insects after a few days so got moved but only a smaller room available. Sofa made of vinyl and really uncomfortable (we were trying to watch the olympics on a TV, which wasn't in the bedroom) bathroom was spotless. Huge site, we were directly opposite the main hotel over the road - a couple of minutes walk. The Food was generally good, a selection to please everyone and plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit, however the deserts were awful, imitation cream featured heavily - like something from the 80s. Standards were high and every effort was made to keep things hygienic with such a huge amount to feed. Free cocktails were awful too - sickly sweet over flavoured mixes cut with the cheapest alcohol served with one ice cube in. Surly pool maintenance guy and you're not allowed to swim until 9.30am (if I remember rightly) this was at the main pool. Loungers were uncomfortable and a bit like laying on a rack after a week (why no padding?) also jammed together and the usual (alternating between my other half and I) 7am camp out to get the bed that meant you could see the kids swim from your lounger. Sad I know but necessary if your kids aren't that competent at swimming and you don't want to spend all day stood on the edge. Kids had a ball which meant we were happy! All in all not a bad experience but you do feel just one of a number as it is a very very busy resort.

    “Visited 2016”

    Bungalows are fairly basic but extremely clean. Must say the food was very good, pools nice and right on the beach. Just a short walk will take you into the heart of Caleta de Fuste with many bars and restaurants. You must give Pierrot a visit especially if you like a bit of cabaret

    “lovelllly”

    just stayed for a few days ,,,, great place.... lovely small bungalow type apartments all on the one level... great big pool and smaller one for the kids... lovely pool side bar / cafe... 100 yard walk to main shops / bars /restaraunts.. the place was spotless inside and out.... must of the residents seem to be elderly but some familys about....will defo be back
