    “Easter Break”

    Had a wonderful week of sunshine and relaxation at the Barcelo. I travelled with my sister, who had been there several times previously. She highly recommended the hotel and I was not disappointed. The cleanliness of the rooms, pool area etc was very good. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Orlando, who worked at the Aloe Bar, was a lovely guy and really looked after us!

    “Terrible service”

    I booked one of their more expensive rooms, the family room. When we got here the room was over looking the roof of the entertainment area and smelled musty. I called down stairs to let them know I was not happy. First they said they had no more rooms as the hotel was full however a few minutes before that when we checked in the chap told us they were not full. After a few moments of arguing they put me on hold. When they came back they rudely told me to come down stairs so that they could show me another room. The worst thing about this whole experience is by now they know I speak English but they insist on speaking Spanish right through the whole process. The lady who attended me when I came down stairs(I think her name was Conchi) was an absolute B..! about it all. So much rude attitude and in Spanish I must add as she was not going to commuinacte in English to me. The chap who showed me the room was just as bad galloped all the way to the room, I should have put on my running shoes, Oh he does not smile either must be Barcelo thing! The animation staff are fantastic and the kids love them, the rooms are clean and kept that way every day. The bar staff are hit and miss tall black chap who refuses to serve me and looks me up and down as if I have stolen his horse. Restaurant is even worse. I am half Portuguese so I love all Mediterranean cuisine but under cooked Paella, unseasoned meat and basically the same food most days.Nothing like a lovely hot plate to keep your food warm while you dish up however the pates are so hot and there are no napkins placed net to the plate warmers so the kids and I keep burning our hands. The staff are also hit and miss. they seem to have days that you get male waiters and other days you get female waiters. I seem to keep getting a mature female waitress who for the life of me I cant understand why shes doing this job. she seems to have a chip on her shoulder and makes ordering drinks a painful experience and like s to look down at people. I come to the Canaries at least 3 times a year and this is the first time at a Barcelo and it will be the last. I prefer to go to a resort where serviceis a priority. its expensive to go on holiday and I like to be treated kindly.

    “Easter 2017”

    Superb location if you like lazing around the pool or beach,football mini golf tennis shooting range , spa everything you need for a relaxing holiday or try jet ski , Hoover board ( think that's what it's called ?) lol little harbour where you can feed the fish or walk up too the point and feed the wild chip monks monkey nuts the take them right out your hand,popping up out of the many gaps in the rocks brilliant for families couple any boady loved it

    “Good but not amazing.”

    The hotel is in a good location with some lovely restaurants and bars close by. We paid for superior rooms for 2 adults and 2 children, this gave us unlimited access to the spa for the 2 adults, free wifi and pool towels. The rooms were okay, not amazing, we had no view, we overlooked another hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. We were all inclusive, the buffet restaurant was good, there was a good variety of food. There was a poolside restaurant but this was not included in the all inclusive however there was food available by the pool in a side room. There were no other restaurants to choose from that were included in the all inclusive. For this reason it was lacking in comparison to other hotels I have stayed in. There was a good entertainment team if you wanted daytime or evening entertainment. A good restaurant tip is Fado steak house just out of the front of the hotel and across the road, a couple of minutes walk away. Amazing restaurant. The spa was really nice. There were plenty of sunbeds. Overall good hotel but could be better with a better all inclusive package with more choice.

    “Amazing Holiday!”

    We stayed at the hotel as part of a family group with four children. The hotel is spacious, spotlessly clean and in an excellent location with direct access to beach and shops. What makes the hotel, is it's efficient staff who work tirelessly to maintain high standards. Everyone from the restaurant staff to the cleaners are friendly and totally committed to making your stay the best it can be. The animation team were the real stars of our holiday. They work extremely hard to create an enjoyable experience for both children and adults. The team always had time for the children and made a special effort to involve them in day and night activities. Ale deserves a mention here for his enthusiasm and lovely manner with the children. The team's work rate and energy is second to none. Despite visiting at Easter when the hotel was full, it never felt crowded. The waiting staff are super efficient at clearing tables and serving drinks. The food is varied, of excellent quality and cooked right in front of you. On Easter Sunday we were greeted with chocolate eggs at breakfast and Spanish Easter cakes which was a nice touch. The best thing about this hotel is that it works as a team to ensure you have a memorable holiday. It is a credit to the Barcelo group.
