Barceló Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa reviewed by H4925PWvaleriem on . Exceptional! Large, super clean and comfortable room with an enormous bed which was very comfortable and gave a good nights sleep. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful and nothing seemed to be too... Rating: 5

“Very big hotel with goo entertainment team”

Room excellent (3011) but a LONG walk to the reception, dining room and theatre. Quicker to walk past the swimming pools but watch the sun beds at night or you could trip as the lighting is pretty but not very bright in some areas. Enjoyed the animation team and joined in some of the daytime games - boules, table tennis, etc. Dining room not to our liking as trying to find a table with a bowl of soup in your hand is not our idea of a relaxing meal. Allocated tables would have been better to avoid people scrambling around. Maybe two sittings as with the Riu hotels would be an idea when the hotel is busy. Buffet food was not hot and beef and lamb chops were not edible. Beef looked lovely but was so tough the knife could not cut it. The chop was over cooked.and dry. Pork was better. Only a choice of fish or one meat dish each evening and if the meat was badly cooked pizza or pasta were available but cool pasta is not our choice. Veg and desserts were almost identical every day. Breakfast jams did not taste at all of fruit - we think they were supposed to be strawberry and apricot. Bread rolls were really fresh. Resort very nice with good selection of decent restaurants within easy walking distance. One downside is the bus service. We waited 50 minutes at the bus station (a good 20 minute walk from the hotel) for a bus to Las Salinas. This half- hourly service never turned up so we gave up. Chipmunks on the rocks past the harbour were entertaining to watch and in the other direction the island cafe was a pleasant stroll across the sand and the tables are protected from the breeze. Safe was 3 euros/day and there is a charge for the car-park which seems a bit mean. Lovely towels hired for a refundable deposit of 10 euros. If we return we will just have bed and breakfast or try one of the Barcelo bungalows.

    “64 th birthday”

Have stayed here 4 times but no more .Very disappointed with the cleaning service my room floor was very dirty and surfaces dusty.Complimentry items have been drastically reduced No shower cap only small soap, shampoo and a shower gel and body lotion. The anamation team are the best we have seen for a few years. Failing to see why we had to queue for eggs at breakfast only one person to cook all the various types, same again at lunch and dinner . Sorry we will not be back until a major refurbishment has taken place

“Excelent family holiday with lots of fun for all of us”

Amazing hotel with great amenities. The heated swimming pool was great fun for all the family. Food very good and all staff very helpful. The beach is really close and there is a shopping centre at the doorstep. Would highly recommend this hotel.

“Last Minute break to recover from 'flu!”

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I booked a ground floor (Superior) room which had its own jacuzzi and was nicely positioned near to the main pools and to the back gate (which gave access to the beach and harbour). This is my first time in the Canaries and my first time staying at a resort and I was really impressed with both. Having had a nasty bout of 'flu back in Britain, I wanted somewhere where I could pick up some winter sun and recover in a relaxing environment. The Barcelo, with its open, pleasing design, friendly staff, good food and excellent spa facilities "ticked all my boxes" and I would certainly return. The weather was (apparently) relatively poor for this time of year but it was still far far better than that in Britain! Caleta de Fuste is a bustling settlement with good facilities and there is plenty to do (especially for kids) on the harbour front

    “Cold, shabby room ....”

Booked this hotel through Tui, the rooms and hotel looked lovely on the website. The weather was cold and windy throughout our stay, which was out of control of the hotel BUT for a superior room, I have to say it was nothing flash. There was a smell of urine in the bathroom throughout the holiday, which I finally traced to a leaky toilet, and a toilet brush standing in water, uurgh :(. Our room 3209, clearly wasn't one of the modernised ones, with nasty laminate flooring, chipped furnishings and a sofa with worn and clicked covers. However, the bed, was very comfortable. The room was freezing, and like others have noted, did not have any heating. The air con couldn't be set to push out warm air. The food was the usual all-inclusive fare. Drinks were strong, which helped in some part in keeping the chill out. Despite some other reports, we did not find any of the staff to be unfriendly. Not much to do around and about the hotel, once we have exhausted the delights of walking both ways along the seafront and visiting the Atlantico shopping centre. Won't be returning.
