    “Fantastic Hotel”

Brilliant hotel. Clean, excellent food in both choice and quality - staff could not do enough for us - the epitome of good service. Fantastic pool and well maintained - also plenty of sunbeds available at all times.

OK firstly the bad points: If you are booking with half board you do not get any drinks (including soft drinks, water etc) as part of the dinner. Linin etc gets swapped every three days - which might be OK for some though. The food is very average and not at all up to standard for a 4* hotel. The good points: It's in a nice area and has good transportation links. The service is generally very good. Adults only (when we went in April / May it was mainly the older / retired generation there) WiFi was free and accessible everywhere - how it was a little flakey at times. Tips: Its worth purchasing a 5 litre bottle of water from the local shops (there are an abundance of them) Cheapest place is SuperDino or HyperDino - the spar tend to rip you off.

    “Short Break - Amazing!”

We booked in two couples to stay for 3 nights for mine and my sisters birthday - Stayed in a pool view room with a hot tub on the balcony which was incredible. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly reception staff and offered a complimentary glass of fizz. Our rooms were not ready so we checked our bags in and wondered out. There are loads of bars, restaurants and shops close by. As it was our birthdays we were given a bottle of cava which was a lovely gesture and totally unexpected (Thank you). The food was better than expected- I don't normally like the all inclusive set up at hotels but this didn't have the 'canteen' feel they can have. It was like sitting in a restaurant and the waiters serving drinks were very friendly. The evening meal was nice, but I imagine that if we stayed longer we would have ventured out for a meal instead of eating in the hotel every night. There was loads of choice at breakfast too. The spa was good but we wouldn't have used it again - It was quite dark inside, but the facilities were very good. We all had a massage - tension & volcanic were excellent!! The pool area was busy, but we could find a sunbed no problem - you might just have to move one into a sunny spot! Overall the whole short break was amazing from start to end - I'd love to return one day and wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel.

“Great hotel let down by some of the staff.”

Excellent stay other than aggressive pool police that make relaxing by the pool impossible. I have never before been somewhere that the pool seating cannot be moved and must remain in the orderly lines as set out by the staff. This rule is also not documented anywhere.

    “Pre Easter break”

Having not seen the sun since last August we booked a week at the Barceló for the week leading up to Easter for some early season sunshine. We have stayed at a number of adults only hotels but this was the first time in a Barceló. We were not disappointed by our experience. This hotel is ideally situated next to the beach, bars, restaurants, shops, beach etc. We were greeted by helpful and English speaking reception staff who efficiently processed us and installed us in our well appointed and equipped room. The room was spacious and the bed was especially comfortable. Then balcony although not huge was adequate for relaxing and the hot tub! Meals at the hotel were varied and well presented and catered for all tastes. One could easily put on several extra pounds if you succumbed to the delights on offer. There are 2 pools with plenty of sun lounges available. Even though the hotel was fully booked we didn't have any problems finding somewhere to relax in the sun. We enjoyed our short stay at the Barceló and would be happy to stay again next time we are on Lanzarote.
