    “STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!”

    Too much to list. So many other nice hotels to choose from so don't waste your money on this one. Very poor quality rooms and facilities. Very unhelpful and unfriendly staff. Noisy and dirty renovation work going on which we weren't told about in advance. Definitely wouldn't stay here again.

    “working class review early february”

    We stayed at this hotel early February and over all found it to be a nice hotel , The good bits was the rooms are spacious and the bed very comfy also there was a few english TV chanels if you fancy watching a bit of tv , There were plenty of sun beds and the hotel was kept very clean and tidy ,The not so good bits was the food had no wow factor like in other hotels we have stayed it was a bit same old same old / don't get me wrong you won't starve there is plenty to choose from just nothing that stands out / i would say its one of the best breakfast selections i have seen ( if your from england ) but lunch and evening meals were average , There is wine on tap but always seemed to have run out so you had to keep on trying to get the attention of one of the staff for a top up , not ideal ,The hotel staff were very nice and very helpfull and always working hard as were the staff at reception , There was some work going on at the time we were there which was not ideal when your on your hols , the the staff at the hotel and the Thomson rep tried to deal with this as best they could in a professional manner , I think every one knows maintainence has to be carried out ,it was the fact that no one had been informed prior to the work starting that got peoples backs up .All in all it is a nice hotel I've stayed in worse and I've stayed in better any one can pick fault and find things to moan about no matter what hotel you stay at , so fill your boots and enjoy your holiday THE HOTEL IS FINE

    “Brilliant -watch this space”

    Just returned yesterday from the occidental and can honestly say it was fantastic! Before holiday I was reading the reviews and worrying but I can say that if you are going to this hotel your going to have a fab time! The staff are the most friendly and polite people I've met, the animation team are so enthusiastic and accomodating and everyone I met always had a smile and we're happy to help. I travelled with two friends in February half term and yes there was work being done but it never affected my enjoyment Of the holiday. One pool was empty but the other was able to be used p, a lot of people were complaining that the other pool was not in use but didn't even dip a toe into the actual pool which, whilst very cold initially, was lovely when you got your shoulders under. Rooms were lovely with an amazing pool view and sea view Food was good, only 1 day when there wasn't much I liked however they always had cold meats and salads so if nothing else you could make a nice sandwich with the fresh bread on offer. If you didn't like it it's only a 25 minute walk along the beautiful coast to Costa tiguise were you can get a litre of sangria for €5!! And some really good restaurants right on the sea front. Also just in front of occidental is the Barcelo hotel which has several souvenir shops and a pizza restaurant. If you don't fancy walking to Costa teguise a taxi is €4 and reception staff will call one for you If needed. In summary very clean and very friendly hotel which is currently going under some changes which I would love to come back an see the final product. DON'T BE PUT OFF!!!!!

    “Jenns 40th holiday Feb 2017”

    The hotel is amazing and staff went out of there way . The rooms are a nice size . There heated pool wasn't working . But was being filled as we was leaving which was not to good as the other pools were cold and kids could only play in there for a short time . Over all nice place would go again in 12 months or so

    “ marmite ! ”

    This hotel is under going a make over/ take over and not informed by jet 2 we had an email advising us of the repair work to the front door area but no notification of the "heated pool" being empty or work around the pool area cutting trees most of the day. I get work needs to be done out of season but consideration that these two weeks are half term weeks and peak in price alternative weeks could have been considered. After complaining to guest services we were offered to use the Barcelo hotel across the road again the definition of heated is not what I would describe. Heated in the dictionary "to be made hot or warm"the pools available are freezing. If your expectation of being able to use a pool to swim with this definition you would be in for a shock! The restaurants are not enough on site to accommodate approx 800 I dread to think what it would be like in peak season. One buffet style and one gourmet restaurant. ( this restaurant was nice) the buffet evening menu was the same every night. Cold meats and salads /One grilled meat/fish pizza then chips/potatoes pasta/rice and bland other food. Def need another couple of bookable restaurants on site. No separate bar area at night only one in lobby. I complained twice at breakfast how cold the food was. This hotel is lacking the little luxuries you would expect from an all inclusive. A genuine welcome on arrival suitcases delivered to your room etc.. reception staff not all welcoming! The rooms are nice with a fridge if needed?? Not filled even with water.. Had a lovely view of the sea and pool area. They were filling the pool when we left (the green one) health and safety could have been better when the pool was empty as kids were playing around it. Proper barriers rather than plastic tape! The bar staff were lovely around the pool and in the lobby maybe reception staff should take note. The animation team worked hard too.. I wouldn't return to this hotel, we in the past have stopped at many all inclusives inc carribean and Mediterranean. This one has fell short on many aspects. I get the idea of budgeting and having to not pay for food etc when you are here but when you choose to eat out due to the food being bland and repetitive it kinda misses the point and value for money. Lanzarote has many fantastic restaurants and bars and if I came back to the island I would probably go back to the self catering option and eat out at one of the fantastic restaurants where you can relax and eat food without feeling rushed and better ambience.
