    “Not A Typical Barcelo”

    I've stayed in other Barcelo/Occidental Resorts in Mexico/Spain and expected the same service quality. Not here... The Good - Beach and Pool areas. Nice locations for resting or playing near the water. The Bad - Room fumigant smell, Cleanliness, Customer Service, Quality Control, Cheap Alcohol Don't expect for any sense of urgency here...might as well explain your concerns to the wall. Need to come with the mindset of enjoying the pool, beach and excursions. If you're looking for TLC, not here. For Dinner, book the Paris restaurant. The only one we enjoyed. Perhaps the lack of service correlates the economics. Resort value ($) = poor service.

    “Vacation July 7-14, 2019”

    First off, don't believe any bad reviews for this hotel. We have been there more times than I can count and have never experienced the things people complain about. Hotel is average, rooms are clean, people very friendly. We are always treated like family and that's why we continue to return year after year, sometimes 2 or 3 times a year. Resort is a good size but very easy to get everywhere. There are 2 pools, one quiet and one where activities take place, also a kids pool area on the quiet side. Restaurants include Japanese, Italian, Dominican, Seafood, Mexican, French and a pizza place, plus the buffet. We would like to thank numerous people for their great service, these guys and girls work very hard to make peoples vacations a good one. A big thankyou to Nilson, Clarissa, Maria and rest of staff in Mexican restaurant, sorry I cant remember all names. Jose, Oscar in pizzeria, these guys are great. Riccardo in French restaurant, who always treats us very special. Nancy in Japanese, all the staff in the Italian and Dominican restaurants, Luis in Seafood, great customer service. A special thanks to Omar and staff at lobby bar 1 and to the girls in the premium club, you guys are great. And last but not least the front desk who always makes sure we have the room we requested, thankyou Reina. See you all in a few months.

    “Worst trip ever”

    By far my worst trip Ever THE BEST HONEST REVIEW ABOUT THIS HOTEL It is now 11pm And I had more then enough with this ridiculous hotel... I was sleeping and they decided to put on a party at freaking 10:30 pm that just woke up all my family... I came here to relax on this wannabe 5 stars hotel witch I now classify as a MAX 3 stars... I’ve been to hotels better in Cuba rated lower stars then here. ROOMS The pictures speaks for themselves,. Dirty rooms looks like they haven’t been cleaned since 1970... Rust on almost everything that can rust, dirty glass, miroirs. The bed blankets are all stained the safe is almost hanging by 1 screw, 1 cup in the whole room, smells so badly humid... The bath is all dirty I wouldn’t even put my feet in it with shoes... FOOD Horrible... the worst buffet I ever went in Domicican Republic... The only good restaurant I went witch I could qualify as such is the Japanese restaurant the rest is none sense. Staff First start from the airport they started from Sending me to the wrong hotel and I didn’t even get a sorry from anyone. Got to the lobby after loosing 4 hours and still waited 1h ... to get the worst welcome ever I could possibly get... So rude I couldn’t even imagine the rest of my stay here. Towel... the towels... THEY CHARGE YOU 20USD if you loose or if you towel gets stolen... I’m in vacation and I didn’t plan to hire a security agent to check my towels... If you get you towel stolen here my friend the charge you 20usd ... No everyone is has to cary there towels around so nobody touches them, so you can imagine if you get yours stolen that the person steals one and on and on and on so imagine how fun this is... For myself mine was on the balcony one night and the wind blew it on the roof... wow how fun. I ask my agency to change hotels and oh boy this was fun... of course they push it on the hotel and Air Transat that charged me 811$ to change hotel... The first and last time I ever book with a agency Voyage Gendron... Im done from now on I book myself like I always done in the past.

    “Family vacation”

    This was my first family vacation at this all inclusive resort the resort was not far from the airport, location of the hotel was great, very friendly & helpful staff, quatily & quantity of food was great, nightly shows and parties was very entertaining

    I would not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for price value. I paid a good amount for a 5 day 4 nights stay in a Superior suite with ocean view for mediocre hospitality food and quality in the room.
