“Normal hotel let down by the food”

We stayed here during the Easter break (from the Tuesday till Good Friday). The hotel is large and generic. It's public spaces are light and heavily perfumed with industrial sized, albeit discreet air-fresheners. The whole hotel is built on a hill and stairs are everywhere. I believe the main building has lifts, but if you are in one of the blocks, as we were, then it's steps all the way. The room was large and sparse. Not necessarily in a bad way, but the furniture is old and the wood has been damaged by the years of passing a mop around them. The walls are thin, and if you are unlucky enough to have party-goers next door, you'll be able to hear everything. The balconies offer no privacy as they are separated by a lattice work frame. The electrical fittings are old and need to be replaced. The beds are firm and comfortable (at least for me). The biggest let down is the canteen. The food is repetitive and, as many people have already stated here, not as hot as it should be. This concern has been voiced by several people on this site, but nothing seems to have been done to fix this problem. The hotel is good for people with kids who want to spend all day by the pool and not have to worry about anything else.

“So long as you want it on their terms!”

Check in was awful we arrived really late which was not the hotels fault but they showed no sympathy and seemed to relish the process of dragging out the whole check in experience.... we booked two rooms and they are some distance apart, I don’t see any reason why they could not be adjacent! Room and hotel were nice and clean but be aware if your suffering with any mobility issues then this hotel should be avoided.. I have a bad knee and I’ve been in utter agony due to the layout and elevation of some of the rooms above the main hotel areas.. there is no mention of this in the hotel information either. Food was ok but nothing special.. so long as you dont mind the same thing every day then you’ll be fine.. best but about the hotel is the Burger King near the entrance. Pools were ice cold.. only heated pool was in the spa.. at a fee.. no mention of this of course.. Quite a few chargeable optional extras... breaking the concept of all inclusive for us.. maybe we are spoilt but competing groups such as RIU and Sandos all do a much better job FULLY inclusive.. Resort as a whole did not meet expectations.. lots of mention online about tapas bars and the like.. found none! Room walls are paper thin too so you hear quite literally everything.. Would I recommend - nope

    “Perfect family holiday ☀️🙌🏽”

We have literally just landed back home from our fabulous family holiday. We went with our 3 year old who is very well travelled. We booked with Jet 2 and had a free child place so this was fab to begin with. The hotel is simply stunning! Our room was spacious and extremely clean, our wonderful maid cleaned our room everyday. Lots of wardrobe space and large balcony. The pools were fab, the entertainment team work hard ALL day and night to make sure everyone is having a great holiday. Food is good & plenty of choice, drinks such as wine, sangria and beer are all self service! The snack bar is also great for a quick lunch. We were very lucky with the weather & all in all it was a wonderful break. We went to Oasis park with is a must do! The nearest beach is stunning, the hotel have a free bus which takes you to the beach 3 times a day. All of the staff work really hard at this hotel and we will definitely be return! (Having a look now for October) I would 100% recommend this hotel to young families like ours ☀️🙌🏽😉

    “Ok, but wouldn’t return”

We are currently 2 adults and a child age 5 on our 6th day here. We are a well travelled family and it takes a lot for us to write negatively. This is an honest review. I review a hotel on a few things, cleanliness, food hygiene, location, suitability and now more importantly environment conservation. The grounds of the hotel are clean and the rooms are tended to daily if you wish them to be. We booked a double sea view room. Wardrobe space is great and contains a safe which is €3 euro per day. A sizeable bathroom with a sizeable balcony. Negatives, there is a fridge but small and not really cold. Balcony there is two chairs, that’s it considering size. NO tea or coffee making facilities. Big loss on points here. The location of hotel for us was ok, just a five minute walk downhill a very steep hill, to a small selection of shops and a spar, The walk up hill is very very steep, ok for us but others would really struggle. There is a free bus to beach but only three times 0930/1030/1230 and three times back to hotel. This hotel would not be suitable for anyone that cannot climb lots of steps. Suitability, well the English are the minority here. Mainly french and German guests and the hotel only seems to cater for them. Food - it takes a lot for us to complain about food but there is need for improvement here and is a big let down for the hotel I feel. There is a bread selection and pastries, few cereals and fruit no yoghurts, but for breakfast carrots and potatoes and salad is not something I would usually eat at breakfast. There are pancakes and egg station, but no omelettes just fried eggs and no option for poached. The biggest thing here is that the food is not hot. The trays are on a hot plate to keep warm but it doesn’t. They really need bane Marie’s. Food presentation, well there is none so nothing looks appetising and the cleanliness of the self serve areas, well some people are just pigs and don’t clean up after them and the staff don’t seem to bother either so they are bits of unwanted food and dropped food everywhere and serving spoons that seem to have been dipped in every pot. If you like fish and rice you will be ok. I had a piece of blue plastic in my dinner last night and have found a hair in my sons. Not good. There is a microwave but it shouldn’t be needed. Another big issue is there is nothing they are doing to help reduce plastic and there is not one recycle bin. Everything is plastic, cups, polystyrene for hot drinks, straws, cutlery, the only place there is crockery is the restaurant. I find a hotel that is so near the ocean with one of the best beaches in Fuerteventura is doing nothing to protect its main attraction for visitors. This is really poor and lazy in my opinion and ignorant. #weareprojectzero On the plus side, if your child likes going to kids clubs they will be fine here as they do lots for them albeit a bit dated. There is a spa and although it’s onsite it’s not free, €10 euros for two hours, 10-12pm as this is when kids are allowed in or €15 euros for the day. Scandalous when you pay for AI. A nice break but we wouldn’t book to stay again.

“Good stay ay ocidental mar campbells and joy family”

Hi there we arrived on the 6th of April 2019 we were a party of 8 one of the rooms was ready one wasn't. It wasn't the most warmest of welcomes at check in. We went for Lunch and then the room became available. the hotel is spotless the food is good and the pools were very clean. The staff work hard to keep it this way. The entertainment was hit and miss out of the 7 nights we were there I think only 2 of the shows were good. The African acrobats and the magic show were decent. Overall the holiday was good it was very windy due to how high the hotel is its 80m above sea level and up a seep hill. The beach is amazing. The gym at the Hotel is brilliant. Would I stay again yes.
