    “Great hotel”

    We stayed here for 10 days. Food is lovely and always something different to eat. We never went hungry with the 3 meals a day and snacks available all day at the pool. Drinks are self service and this is the first time I’ve seen this in all inclusive, but definitely beats standing in queues for drinks. Rooms were really big and comfy beds. All very clean. Pools are lovely and even though it was July you could still get a sun bed without getting up at the crack of dawn to reserve one!! Lots of entertainment, however night time not really that great. All the staff in the hotel are lovely and always smiling. Would stay here again

    “Fab Hotel”

    Stayed for a week on All Inclusive basis. Food was exceptional quality and plenty of choice. Whole complex was immaculate, except for litter around pool area but that is due to lazy people not putting paper cups/plates in the bin. Can't fault this hotel and would highly recommend it.

    “Lovely Hotel”

    This is a lovely, clean hotel. Check in could have been a little quicker. Stayed on an all inclusive basis - there was a good variety of food on offer, something for everyone, and the drinks are on a "help yourself" basis which I have never come across before but it worked very well and didn't see anyone who had taken advantage! The rooms are spacious with plenty of wardrobe space. The safe in the room is the size of a small suitcase, plenty big enough for a laptop and other valuable (3 euros per day). The maid cleans daily. The pool area is busy and can be quite noisy at certain times of the day but there are a couple of terraces with sunbeds and very few people use them - a lot more space to move the beds wherever you want! The entertainment at night could do with improvement. The "acts", in my opinion, were not of a high standard and a quite lack lustre. The walk into Teguise across the costal path is lovely and worth doing. Overall this was a very relaxing holiday and I would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone.

    “A pleasant holiday”

    We stayed for 8 days in July. 4 adults. Absolutely satisfied with the rooms, spacious, clean, everything as it should be, although I can imagine someone more demanding might expect even a bit more from a four-star facility. Half-board okay, broad offer of meals. We particularly enjoyed dinner buffet as there was an incredible offer of fish - had never experienced that much fish before. We just loved that. However, if you go for all-inclusive, you will be taken aback by the fact you need to pay for coffee, cocktails, drinks... That doesn´t seem right. As for the services, entertainment mainly focused on kids, not much fun for adults. We didn´t mind that so much, but it´s good to know. Concerning the staff, they were kind and always helpful. The Mar Hotel doesn´t have a beach of its own. If you pass through the Playa Hotel, which is opposite the Mar, you get to a small stony beach - we did that the frist day we arrived. Surprisingly, after a little swim there you can´t get back through the Playa as your Mar hotel card doesn´t entitle you to enter the Playa resort from the beach. Instead, you need to take about a 1km walk along an adjoining building plot, which will make you see red. So we did that just once. Next day we took a hotel courtesy bus to get to Curachas Beach, which is nice and large, great waves there, cosy restaurants and bars. Not really for swimming though, just having fun in waves. The last bus back to the hotel departs at 5:45, which we found a bit too early for us. So we decided to walk instead- about 30 - 40 minutes. Not a big deal for adults but the walk could be annoying for a family with small kids. No surprise most of those families just spent their time at the hotel pools. As we wanted to see other places in Lanzarote, on the third day we hired a car for 3 days at 95 euros( What an agreeable price compared to Greek islands!) and explored the whole island. Strongly recommend that - so much to see - Ceasar Manrique´s works, Volcano national park, lots of wonderful beaches. Absolutely excited to be able to see that much. All in all, that was a great time we had in there. Lanzarote´s definitely a place worth going to. As I see it, a stay in the Occidental Mar was a good choice as well.

    “A fine experience that I would recommend”

    A good experience as a total package of having a good room, a big variety of food, the sport facilities and the service by the staff. The only negative aspect are the other guests which can be annoying at the buffet in the restaurant and bars because of their decadence and troublesome behavior.

    “Great hotel”
