    “Wonderful Week”

I was impressed with every single aspect of my stay there. The grounds, decor, maintenance and staff were always awesome. The artistry of the desserts and pastries was a wonderful surprise. I certainly look forward to more!

    “Easy luxury, great service”

From the moment we arrived at the resort we felt delighted and so well taken care of. Even our basic room felt incredibly luxurious - this was a splurge vacation for us and we’re still dreaming about the shower, the patio, the bed, the sweet smelling lotion in every bathroom, and the incredible housekeeping and turndown services. We’re so grateful. The concierge was helpful but it’s clear that the dinner reservation system is tiered, which is the only time we felt our room choice- our dinner reservation options were late. Even so, we adjusted our schedules easily and had largely spot on meals and service at collection of restaurants which felt intimate and varied in terms of cuisine and ambiance. The Deck’s breakfast and salad bars were full of great options for the non-dairy and pescatarian among us, which was really helpful. The pools, beach, amenities, paths, and the layout of the place generally were clearly very well thought out - much privacy to be had in a pretty big place full of people. We found other TLGBQ+ folks there, and found the staff to be generally chill and super friendly, kind, funny, attentive, and full of good advice. The resort is also in walking distance from Playa del Carmen and it was nice to see ruins and the aviary nearby, and to walk into town and explore. When we weren’t out and about or in the ocean we enjoyed the offerings of Daniel’s stretching class (so great!) and Jonathan’s aqua-fitness class, which was so much fun and a genuinely good workout. Many of the people there were annual visitors and though we likely won’t be, we’ll always think dreamily of our wonderful splurge time here!

    “Such a good week!”

Dream beach, excellent food (four restaurants on site), not too crowded at this time of the year and most importantly: very nice staff! Big shout out to Merzy, Carlos and John. Thank you guys for a really fun time!!

    “No longer luxury”

I am sorry to say this resort is nothing like it use to be. I would have given 1 star but the employees really do try to please & provide service. Extremely loud music for activities - I thought this was a luxury hotel with a unique twist of being “all inclusive”. Water exercise, again loud obnoxious music, over loud speaker announcing cheesy evening entertainment such as Elvis (horrible). I truly don’t want to be negative, but if this is the direction RH is going, they should change marketing material & price accordingly. RH use to be elegant, quiet, quant & on par with 5 star resorts. Location is great & beach is beautiful. But now this resort is just another all inclusive resort to choose from. No flexibility with dinner reservations.

    “Not Coming Again”

What I liked: Nice beach, cozy small hotel and a nice setting. What I did not like: No buffets, no swim up bars, and no straws to enjoy my frozen pina calada. Why two stars: Service.... it is all about the service. We were a group of 8 that stay there for 4 nights. Every evening we had to fight to get a reservation at a decent hour, like 7:30 or 8. Remember, there is no buffet so dinner is available only at the restaurant. And then we you do get it, it took forever to get out. We spent 3-4 hours at restaurants every evening because everything is sooooo slowwww. 30 minutes to sit you down, 1 hr to take your order, another 1 hr to serve and hopefully not screw it up. We all very pretty frustrated about the slowness in restaurants and the amount of time we spent there. I also had moth in my room, lots of them. And the air conditioner was as loud as a tractor so I had to turn it off every night. Thankfully it was end of November and it was not 100 degrees outside. I did mention it to the concierge but nothing was done about it. I just did not feel like fighting anymore and wanted to enjoy my vacation. I did not feel like the management gave a crap about their guests and every demand was pushed back on hard. Some waiters and barmen were great though.
