What does the experience include?

If you’re holidaying in Lanzarote but don’t want to miss a chance to discover the highlights of the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura, this is the perfect guided tour for you. With First Minute Travel, a local company specialising in organising excursions, you can explore Fuerteventura’s fabulous white sandy beaches, the island’s sand dunes, and its variety of natural parks.

What you need to know

Our company offers customers the following departure points from Lanzarote: Costa Teguise, Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca, Puerto Calero, and the cruise port of Arrecife. Strictly speaking, however, the excursion begins at Playa Blanca in the south of the island, where you will take a ferry from which, 40 minutes later, you will disembark in Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura.

From there, the tour will head down inland through Fuerteventura, to towns and villages such as Lajares and La Oliva, away from the mass tourism resorts, and therefore perfect for seeing the authentic traditional side of Fuerteventura.

Our next stop is in Betancuria, the island’s former capital, which was named after the conquistador Jean de Bethencourt who founded the town in 1404. From there, our route takes us back towards the north of the island, but not before we stop off at the Mirador de Morro Velosa viewing point, to enjoy the views of this island’s typically rugged and arid landscape. However, the viewing point is not only worth visiting for the fantastic, panoramic views it affords — it is also a building constructed by César Manrique, and is characteristic of his work in that it has achieved perfect harmony with its natural setting.

Lastly, the bus will make its way to Corralejo, to board the ferry once again, this time to Playa Blanca, where you will arrive at around 6.45 pm.
