Itinerary
Stop at: Discover El Puerto: The City of the 100 Palaces
We'll start our route at the gates of Aponiente, an internationally known 3 Michelin Stars restaurant by Ángel León, the pioneer of the culinary use of plankton. There, our expert will introduce himself and tell you a bit about the restaurant and the importance of the salt marshes in the Cadiz Bay. Then, you'll walk to the San Marcos Castle, the most important monument of El Puerto de Santa María and learn about the relation of Christopher Columbus with the city and how the fortress was originated. Next, you'll get to see some casas-palacio, the headquarters of the Cargadores a Indias, merchants in business with the New World who brought wealth to the city. Lastly, you'll finish your itinerary in the Iglesia Mayor Prioral, the main church in El Puerto.
