What the experience includes
A personalized tour through unaltered natural landscapes, impressive viewpoints over the valleys, mountains and cliffs of the island. Charming villages, volcanoes...
This 7-hour guided tour is designed to discover with us the central mountainous area of the island in an enjoyable way. We developed the excursion through the protected natural areas of the Roque Nublo, Pico de las Nieves or Bandama areas, also visiting San Mateo and the town of Teror
Our guides are specialized professionals trained specifically to interact with our clients and interpret the course of the excursion, turning each trip into a unique and different experience. To achieve this, our groups are for a maximum of 20 people.
We started the route with a view of the Caldera de Bandama, the last active volcano in Gran Canaria with a spectacular crater of 1 km in diameter and fantastic views over the northeast area of the island. We then cross the Santa Brigida wine area where we can see the agricultural richness of its environment and a surprising green landscape that will captivate us. The next stop is in San Mateo to get to know the population and the way of life of its inhabitants (a traditional market for Canarian products takes place on Saturdays).
Then there is Pico de las Nieves, the highest place on the island (1,949 meters). Our panoramic tour offers us stops at viewpoints with captivating views such as Roque Bentayga and Roque Nublo, an impressive 80-meter-high monolith, a natural monument considered sacred by the ancient pre-Hispanic aboriginal inhabitants, whose symbolism has survived to this day and become the emblem of Gran Canaria.
We will explore the whole area through spectacular viewpoints with exceptional views of valleys and ravines. Together with us you will learn the history, anecdotes and peculiarities of this fascinating protected mountain area, its unaltered landscapes, forests and secondary roads.
We will go down to the Cruz de Tejeda and its National Parador, where you can taste products such as cheeses, olives, almonds..., as well as buy typical Canarian handicrafts.
Finally, a stop at the charming Villa de Teror to visit the Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pino, patron saint of the island, and enjoy free time for lunch (not included in the price), or take a walk through its historic center.
A different and enjoyable tour that allows you to get to know the peaks and midlands of Gran Canaria in a personalized way.
