What the experience includes
Going up through the town of Tamaragua, we will enter the so-called midlands area, a vast area that encompasses several municipalities located at an altitude of between 600 and 1,500 meters and that surprises all our visitors with its greenery and crops, a landscape that will accompany us for much of the day, very different from what we are used to in the south of the island, and in which important agricultural and livestock activity takes place. Our destination is the charming towns of Teror and San Mateo, where two traditional markets take place on Sundays.
- Teror: Town with a well-kept historic centre in which the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pine, patron saint of the diocese of the Canary Islands, is located, as well as magnificent stately homes and Canarian-style palaces that attest to the historical importance of this town. Its lively street market combines local products with handicrafts, clothing and souvenirs. It is a pleasure to combine shopping and a walk through its pedestrian streets
- Vega de San Mateo: A town with a marked agricultural and livestock character where on Sundays there is a very interesting market for local gastronomic products, fruits, vegetables, cheese, nuts, spices... An explosion of smells and flavours that you cannot miss, seasoned with musical performances that invite you to dance
The two visits, together with the panoramic tour through farmland in the fertile midland area, make this excursion a treat for our senses. Enjoy this Sunday atmosphere with us.
