What the experience includes
Cactus Garden, Mirador Del Rio, Monument to the Peasant, Jameos Del Agua or Cueva de Los Verdes, the César Manrique Foundation... long live the Cat's.
When back in the late 1960s and early 1970,César ManriqueHe returned to Lanzarote and together with Jesús Soto they began the construction and implementation of the Lanzarote Art and Tourism Centers. Perhaps they were not aware of the international projection and artistic trend that they were going to generate.
César, a multidisciplinary artist, painter, sculptor, curator of monuments and tourist complexes, configurator of landscapes and gardens, renowned environmentalist, created a trend of natural volcanic accidents that impacted the world and was a world reference. He managed to unite art, culture, nature, urban planning and tourism in a single concept, under a philosophy and model of urban intervention based on sustainability and respect for the natural values of the territory.
Without theMonument to the Peasant,Los Jameos del Agua, Mirador del Rio, Cactus Garden or the Cueva de Los Verdes, our Island would be something else, without a doubt it would be less attractive and with much less personality. Not visiting these Centres and works of art and being able to interpret them is like not having visited us. On this excursion, we are delighted to give you this opportunity on a journey through the North of Lanzarote.
