What the experience includes
Travel through the history, culture, landscapes and gastronomy of the island of Mallorca accompanied by a passionate local guide. On this private 5-hour tour we will visit the Serra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, making three idyllic stops, far from overcrowding.
We will start the tour at 9:00am from Palma, after picking you up at your hotel or place of resistance, where we will return around 14:00 hrs.
We will travel about 80 km through the Serra de Tramuntana, where we have selected authentic and unique places, as well as tastings of typical products of our island:
Valldemossa Hermitage:Access by car is very difficult, so we have a short 10-minute walk to reach a magical place where you can breathe peace. A tiny chapel, an exceptional viewpoint... Our guide will explain the fascinating history of the place, while we taste a piece of delicious freshly baked ensaimada.
Monastery of Miramar:We will leave Valldemossa behind and in the Municipality of Deiá, the birthplace and refuge of artists and bohemians, we will stop for about 1 hour at the “Monastir de Miramar”, founded by the great thinker and inventor Ramón Llull, first it was a monastery and later a summer mansion of the Archduke Luís Salvador of Austria and his illustrious guests. The visit is divided into three parts. First of all we will visit the old oil mill, we will continue with the Archduke's house, you will get to know its interiors and its legends and end up in the impressive Byzantine gardens full of stories, secrets and legends, next to the cliffs above the sea. At the end of the visit there is nothing better than to snack on some traditional Quelitas salted cookies with cheese, a daily delicacy for many Mallorcans.
Almazara de Sóller:The last part of the Tour takes place in an old Majorcan house in the historic center of Sóller, which houses inside a working oil mill that has been producing virgin oil since 1516. With the help of one of its owners, we will visit the family business and discover the whole world related to the production of olive oil as well as the cultivation of orange.
Finally we will taste a “pa amb oli”, a traditional Mallorcan lunch with local rustic bread, tomatoes, olives, cheese, ham and olive oil. For dessert a Gató, a very typical almond cake from the island. Wine, water and delicious freshly squeezed orange juice.
An unforgettable journey through the Serra de Tramuntana and the Sóller Valley that will allow us to explore landscapes and hidden places, learn about their legends, anecdotes and history, as well as enjoy the flavors of our local gastronomic products.
